Royal Court issues statement on the death of Princess Munira Bint Sultan Ibn Abdulaziz

Prince Sattam performs funerary prayers over the deceased

The Royal Court announced in a statement that Princess Munira Bint Sultan Ibn Abdulaziz Al Saud, aged 59 years old, died following an incurable disease, and that funerary prayers were to be performed for the deceased Princess at Imam Turki bin Abdullah Mosque in Riyadh after Asr prayers, praying to Allah Almighty to bless her soul.

Prince Sattam bin Abdulaziz, Acting Governor of Riyadh Region and Prince Ahmed bin Abdulaziz, Deputy Minister of Interior performed the funerary prayers on soul of the late Princess Munira.

The late princess Munira's funeral prayers were performed in Riyadh's Imam Turki Bin Abdullah Mosque after Asr prayers.

The funeral prayers were also attended by a large gathering of royals, senior officials and citizens.

Prince Nawaf Ibn Faisal Ibn Fahd Ibn Abdulaziz, President of Youth Welfare Presidency, President of Saudi Olympic Committee and President of Federation of Arab National Olympic Committees, has received a number of cables of condolences on the death of his mother, Princess Munira.

The cables have been sent by President of Saudi Arabia Maritime Sports Federation Vice Admiral Awad bin Eid Al-Balawi; Vice President of Kuwait's Public Authority for Youth and Sports Sheikh Talal bin Fahd Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah; Yemeni Ambassador to the Kingdom Mohammed Ali Mohsen Al-Ahwal; Azerbaijan's Ambassador Dr. Tofiq Abdullayev; Moroccan Minister of Youth and Sport Munsef Belkhayat; President of Yemeni Football Association Ahmed Saleh Al-Absi; President of Algerian Football Association Mohammed Rorawah; President of Sudanese Football Association Mutasim Jaafar Sir Al-Khatem; and the Secretary General of Yemeni Football Association and Chairman of Appellate Committee of Arab Football Federation Dr. Hamid Al-Shaibani.

Prince Nawaf received at his palace in Riyadh condolers on the sad demise of Princess Munira.

They were led by ambassadors of Arab, Islamic and friendly countries to the Kingdom, representatives of the President of FIFA Joseph Blatter, Mohammed bin Hammam, Chairman of the Asian Soccer Federation, and a number of sportsmen and citizens.

The President of GCC Sport Information Federation Salem Al-Habsi has sent a cable of condolences to Prince Nawaf on the death of Princess Munira.

Al-Habsi offered his condolences to Prince Nawaf Ibn Faisal Ibn Fahd Ibn Abdulaziz, Prince Khalid Ibn Faisal Ibn Fahd Ibn Abdulaziz, their sisters the princesses, and the Royal Family.
