The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah Bin Abdulaziz and President of France Jacques Chirac discussed developments of the situations in the Middle East, notably in the Palestinian, Lebanese and Iraqi arenas in addition to developments at the regional and International arenas.

During the conversation which King Abdullah received from President Chirac, bilateral relations between the two countries and ways of enhancing them were also discussed.

Furthermore, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah Bin Abdulaziz received at the royal court at Al-Yamamah Palace U.S. Senator William Nelson and the accompanying delegation on a visit to the Kingdom.

The audience was attended by Prince Miqren Bin Abdulaziz, Chief of General Intelligence; Prince Abdulaziz Bin Abdullah Bin Abdulaziz, advisor to the King and a number of officials.

The Custodian Of The Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud has also issued orders to promote a number of officers of various ranks in the military sectors.

On another point, The Custodian Of The Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah Bin Abdulaziz received at his office at the royal court at Al-Yamamah Palace in Riyadh members of Shoura Council from southern regions of Jazan, Asir and Najran who came to thank the monarch for developmental projects during his visit to the regions.

Addressing the audience, the monarch said that they would be pleased by the budget announcement.

He praised them for their loyalty to the royal family, religion and the country. The monarch wished the good for the Arab and Muslim nations. He indicated that the Kingdom has assisted many countries.

On the role of companies in execution of the projects in the regions, he noted that some are waiting for offers to be executed by capable companies.

The King said that he directed the Minister of Commerce to discuss with owners of small companies the possibility of merging into groups and to offer for execution of these projects, indicating they expressed their desire to do so, but they set conditions and a committee has been formed to discuss and solve them.

The King added that there have been many ready projects, but they need contractors to be executed. The King prayed to almighty Allah to protect this country. He said, '' Your enemies are defeated by the unity of the Saudi people standing as one man. As for terrorists, we regret and feel pain if we hear that they belong to us. But they are prompted by the satan. We feel disgusting when it is known that this one is from Saudi Arabia and has committed a criminal act. But they have been defeated''.

The monarch added that we do not commit aggression against any one, but if others commit aggression against us they will be defeated.

Addressing the members, the Crown Prince said that we have had the honor of serving our country and nation, noting that the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah Bin Abdulaziz expressed his appreciation, trust and pride of every citizen in various regions in the Kingdom. Praise be to Allah that we are one nation. We love and cooperate with each other. Each one opens his heart to serve the religion, the homeland and his brother, the Crown Prince said and wished them all success.

On his part and on behalf of the Shoura Council members, Abdullah Bin Saeed Abu Malaha, member of the Shoura Council expressed his appreciation of and thanks to the Crown Prince for his services to the homeland and for his recent visit to the three regions. The audience was attended by a number of officials.

Crown Prince Sultan Bin Abdulaziz, the Deputy Premier, Minister of Defense and Aviation and Inspector General received at his office at the royal court at Al-Yamamah Palace in Riyadh the Secretary General of Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Abdulrahman Bin Hamad Al-Atiyyah. During the audience, Al-Atiyyah expressed his appreciation of The Custodian of The Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah Bin Abdulaziz and the GCC leaders for extending his term of office for more three years.

The Custodian of The Two Holy Mosques, King Abdullah Bin Abdul Aziz, has ordered the payment of bonuses for university students which were due in the fiscal year 1427. An official source at the Ministry of Higher Education said that on the basis of this generous directive the Ministries of Higher Education and Finance coordinated together and arranged for the payments to go out to students imminently.

The source indicated that this generous fatherly directive from The Custodian of The Two Holy Mosques, comes within the framework of creating the right atmosphere for the students to resolve all their problems so that they can pursue their academic achievements are in the appropriate academic atmosphere and away from the worries that impede on their educational path.

The source also noted that on behalf of all the students, the Ministry of Higher Education offered its thanks and gratitude to The Custodian of The Two Holy Mosques who continuously cares for the educational sector where, between 1424 and 1427, 11 state universities were established as well as 90 colleges. The amount of male and female students increased by 62% compared to the year 1424.

The Custodian of The Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah Bin Abdulaziz received at his office at the royal court at Al-Yamamah Palace in Riyadh Arab League Secretary General Amr Moussa.

During the meeting, they discussed overall developments at the Arab arena and efforts exerted by the league with regards to issues of interest to the Arab nation particularly the situation in Lebanon and the occupied Arab territories.

The audience was attended by Crown Prince Sultan Bin Abdulaziz, Deputy Premier, Minister of Defense and Aviation and Inspector General; Prince Saud Al-Faisal, The Foreign Minister; Prince Abdulaziz Bin Abdullah Bin Abdulaziz, advisor to the King and Abdulmohsin Bin Abdulaziz Al-Tuwaijri, advisor to the King.

The Custodian of The Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah Bin Abdulaziz also received Bahrain's Ambassador to the Kingdom Rashid Bin Saad Al-Dosari, who bade farewell to the King at the end of the Ambassador's term of office in the Kingdom.

On the other hand, The Custodian of The Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah Bin Abdulaziz has issued his directives to host 1000 pilgrims from the various continents at his own expense.

The Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Endowments, Call and Guidance will undertake the program of hosting the guests who include Islamic dignitaries, heads of the Islamic centers and societies and Islamic callers. This was announced by Minister of Islamic Affairs, Endowments, Call and Guidance Sheikh Salih Al Alsheikh. Al Alsheikh reiterated the keenness of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on enhancing its relations with all Muslims.

Crown Prince Sultan Bin Abdulaziz, Deputy Premier, Minister of Defense and Aviation and Inspector General, chaired at his palace in Riyadh the meeting of the Ministerial Committee For Administrative Organization.

The meeting, also attended by Prince Naif Bin Abdulaziz, Minister of Interior, discussed the items on the agenda. Several ministers and senior officials participated in the meeting.

Crown Prince Sultan Bin Abdulaziz, the Deputy Premier, Defense and Aviation Minister and Inspector General, has received the golden medal of Ibn Sina presented by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) in recognition of his support to the budget of the Arabic language at UNESCO as well as his humanitarian and cultural efforts.

The medal was delivered to Prince Sultan by Minister of Education Dr. Abdullah Al-Obaid and the kingdom's representative at Unesco Dr Ziad Al-Dereis during a meeting.

It is worth mentioning that prince sultan donated $1 million to the UNESCO to enable the Arabic language to enjoy the same status being enjoyed by other languages at the UNESCO.

The meeting was attended by Ali Al-Hudeithi, the Chief of the court of the Crown Prince, and Mohammed Al-Murri, the Special Secretary of the Crown Prince.

Prince Naif Bin Abdul Aziz, the Minister of Interior has assured that the Islamic states are capable of building an appropriate strategic environment plan. "The Islamic world has human capacities and great potential in this area which will make them pioneers in the whole world to preserve the environment."

In a press conference held after the opening ceremony of the second conference of ministers of the environment of Islamic states which was patronized on behalf of The Custodian Of The Two Holy Mosques, King Abdullah Bin Al-Aziz, , Prince Naif said the Ministries of Interior in the Islamic states are acting as execution bodies and seeking the implementation of any decisions undertaken by the environment authorities towards the environmental infringements. "They will spare no effort to pursue their mission."

Prince Naif pointed to the Kingdom's intention to introduce environmental issues in schools and universities along with a number of televised symposia aiming to spread environmental awareness.

With regard to the adoption of the joint program of nuclear technology, Prince Naif said "this is a sensitive issue, but time is very important. There must be a role in GCC states on this matter for peaceful purposes and what has been approved in Jaber summit is very clear regarding this issue. We hope that the role of the GCC states be positive rather than negative to serve people, not kill them."

In response to a question about the sectarian conflicts in Lebanon and Iraq and the possibility of transfer of the impact of these conflicts to the holy places, Prince Naif said "The transference! We are not worried about it. Everyone comes here to perform hajj rituals and i think faith in Allah and fearing him would act as a deterrent. We have taken every security precaution to respond to any event we are in, with full readiness."

On the other hand, Prince Naif stressed that those returning from Guantanamo bay would receive the same treatment as any other citizen. Answering questions from reporters, Prince Naif said: "we hope that those extradited from Guantanamo prison are requested to cooperate with local investigators to shorten the way for their return to normal life. They have to divulge whatever information they are keeping to help security officers complete their job."

Experts commented on the affairs concerning oil and on the importance for Saudi Arabia to host the next OPEC summit which is due to be held next year as this would mean that it will be held in a country which is amongst the largest oil producers in the world, as well as it having has the largest reserves within the Arab economies. It is expected that the summit will be hosted in Riyadh in September of next year as endorsed during the Abuja meeting in Nigeria according to an OPEC official.
