CROWN PRINCE SULTAN IBN ABDUL AZIZ DONATES SR 200 MILLION TO SUPPORT THE PRINCE SULTAN IBN ABDUL AZIZ CHARITABLE FOUNDATION. PRINCE SULTAN AT THE MEETING OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES: THE FOUNDATION WILL CONTINUE TO FOCUS ON THREE MAIN ELEMENTS: HEALTH, EDUCATION, AND TECHNOLOGY. Crown Prince Sultan Ibn Abdul Aziz, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defense and Aviation and Inspector General, chaired the 12th meeting for the board of trustees of Prince Sultan Ibn Abdul Aziz Charitable Foundation. Speaking on the occasion, Prince Sultan reiterated his keenness on enabling the foundation to extend humanitarian services to the people. He announced his donation of SR 200 million for supporting the foundation. The Riyadh-based Prince Sultan Ibn Abdul Aziz Charitable Foundation, established in 1415, focuses its attention on the domains of health, education and technology. It includes a number of major projects like Prince Sultan Ibn Abdul Aziz city for Medical and Educational Telecommunications, and Prince Sultan Ibn Abdul Aziz Centre For Sciences and Technology. While chairing the foundation's board meeting, Prince Sultan announced a donation of SR200 million to the charity as part of his efforts to promote its humanitarian activities. He also said that the foundation would continue to focus on three main elements: health, education, and technology. Crown Prince Sultan had earlier listened to a report on the foundation's achievements during the past year. The foundation's budget for 2007 was also discussed at the meeting. The board meeting took a number of important steps including the decision to increase the number of beds in its medical center to 236 by 2007 and to set up housing units for the center's employees. The crown prince gave directives to the board that all soccer players of the Kingdom's National Special Needs Team who recently won the Learning Disability World Cup be given free access to the foundation's facilities. The Prince Sultan Charitable Foundation is a non-profit organization established in 1995 in Riyadh. It consists of three main projects: Prince Sultan Ibn Abdul Aziz City for Humanitarian Services, Prince Sultan Ibn Abdul Aziz Program for Medical and Educational Communication and Prince Sultan Ibn Abdul Aziz Center for Science and Technology. All three offer rehabilitation, medical, and social services for the elderly as well as for people with special needs. The foundation also contributes to the development of medical education in the Kingdom and has supported many national and international conferences and seminars. Crown Prince Sultan Ibn Abdul Aziz, the Deputy Prime Minister, Defense and Aviation Minister and Inspector General, who is also the Supreme President of Prince Sultan Ibn Abdul Aziz Charitable Foundation, chaired in Jeddah the 12th meeting for the foundation's council of trustees. This was announced by Prince Faisal Ibn Sultan Ibn Abdul Aziz, the foundation's Secretary General. He pointed out that the participants of the meeting reviewed a number of topics pertaining to the achievements of the foundation and its future programs. Crown Prince Sultan Ibn Abdul Aziz, Deputy Prime Minister, Defense and Aviation Minister and Inspector General, received GCC Secretary General Abdul Rahman Al-Atiyyah who congratulated Crown Prince Sultan on the Holy month of Ramadan. Meanwhile, Crown Prince Sultan received a group of citizens who came to congratulate him on the holy month of Ramadan. The guests had an Iftar "Breaking Fast" party with Crown Prince Sultan. The audiences were attended by a number of princes. On the other hand Crown Prince Sultan Ibn Abdul Aziz, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defence and Aviation and Inspector General issued his directions to repair and enlarge a road in Sarat Abeida Governorate and donated SR 3 million and 367 thousand to rebuild and refurbish Prince Sultan mosque in Yadma. Crown Prince Sultan Ibn Abdul Aziz, Deputy Prime Minister, Defense and Aviation Minister and Inspector General, has donated SR 5 million to the Riyadh-based "Al-Dawah" Charity. This was announced during the patronization of Prince Salman Ibn Abdul Aziz, Governor of Riyadh, of the Charity's annual celebration which was held in Riyadh. On his part, Prince Salman decided to donate SR 2 million on annual basis to the charity. Then other donations from princes and dignitaries were announced. Crown Prince Sultan Ibn Abdul Aziz, the Deputy Prime Minister, Defense and Aviation Minister and Inspector General, received Prince Sultan Ibn fahd Ibn Abdul Aziz, the president of youth welfare, accompanied by members of the board of directors of the Saudi Federation for the Sports of Physically Disabled. Prince Sultan congratulated them on the success attained by the Saudi Federation for the Sports of Physically Disabled at the football match recently held in Germany. Prince Sultan urged the youth to adhere to the teachings of Islam. On his part, Prince Sultan Ibn Fahd Ibn Abdul Aziz highlighted the achievements attained by the Saudi sports at the various international events, and attributed the success in this respect to the grace of Almighty Allah and to the great and generous support extended to the sports sector by the Saudi officials. Prince Sultan received a memorial present from Prince Sultan Ibn Fahd Ibn Abdul Aziz. Crown Prince Sultan Ibn Abdul Aziz, the Deputy Prime Minister, Defense and Aviation Minister and Inspector General, has donated for setting up a permanent headquarters of Saudi Charitable Society for combating cancer in Riyadh in an area of 850 square meters on the way of Makkah Al-Mukarramah. In a press meeting, Dr. Abdullah Ibn Sulaiman Al-Amro, the Chairman of the society's board of directors expressed his appreciation of and thanks to the Crown Prince for donation and his continual initiatives for the society, stressing that the society receives from the Crown Prince annual generous support amounting to SR 1 million. He noted that the Crown Prince has founded Prince Sultan Ibn Abdul Aziz Charitable Foundation which has been recently categorized as the best humanitarian organization at the level of Arab and Islamic countries by the international philanthropist organization. Dr. Al-Amro also inaugurated the society's website on the internet. He indicated that the society will set up a charitable endowment in Riyadh at a cost of SR 30 million. On the other hand, Dr. Al-Amro said that Al-Abdullatif Charitable Center for Cancer early detection in Riyadh will be opened in November. He noted that Prince Salman Ibn Abdul Aziz, the Governor of Riyadh region directed that the centre be named after donor businessman Abdullatif Al-Abdullatif whose donation to the center amounts to nearly SR. 8 million . Moreover, Crown Prince Sultan donated SR 1 million to the Endowment on annual basis after its establishment. Following a speech ceremony on the occasion, Prince Salman donated Two million riyals. Princess Torfah Bint Abdul Aziz donated one million riyals and donations by other individuals and institutions followed. The ceremony was attended by a number of princes, ministers and businessmen. Prince Salman Ibn Abdul Aziz, Governor of Riyadh region, donated one million Saudi riyal and his sons another million for the care of orphans in the kingdom. This was announced during an annual reception held by the Saudi Charity for the Care of Orphans under the patronage of Prince Salman. Addressing the gathering, Prince Salman gave an account on the activities of the association, emphasizing its expanding role in the care of orphans. Prince Salman Ibn Abdul Aziz, the Governor of Riyadh region, patronized the annual ceremony for the Islamic Call Charitable Foundation. On arrival at the venue of the ceremony, Prince Salman was welcomed by Prince Saud Ibn fahd Ibn Abdul Aziz, the Chairman of the board of directors of the foundation, Minister of Islamic Affairs, Endowments, Call and Guidance Sheikh Saleh Al Al-Sheikh, and a number of senior officials. Speaking on the occasion, Sheikh Saleh Al Al-Sheikh underlined the importance of projecting Islam in its proper manner, and said the foundation has been performing its mission in this respect. It was announced at the ceremony that Crown Prince Sultan Ibn Abdul Aziz, Deputy Prime Minister, Defense and Aviation Minister and Inspector General, had donated SR 5 million to the foundation; Prince Salman Ibn Abdul Aziz SR 2 million (every year); Prince Mohammed Ibn fahd Ibn Abdul Aziz, the Governor of the Eastern region SR 5 million; Prince Saud Ibn fahd Ibn Abdul Aziz SR 3 million; Prince Sultan Ibn fahd Ibn Abdul Aziz, the President of Youth Welfare SR 2 million; Prince Abdul Aziz Ibn fahd Ibn Abdul Aziz, the Minister of State, Member of the Cabinet and Chief of the Court of the Cabinet's Presidency SR 4 million; and Prince Nawaf Ibn Faisal Ibn Fahd, the Vice-President of the Youth Welfare, and the family of late Prince Faisal Ibn Fahd Ibn Abdul Aziz SR 5 million. On his part, Sheikh Abdul Aziz Al Al-Sheikh, the kingdom's General Mufti, said the Islamic call requires sincerity and loyalty. He slammed those who try to throw doubts on the principles and values of the Muslim nation and advocate destructive ideology. He pointed out that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia - the cradle of Islam, is determined on going ahead on the path of the proper creed. On his part, Prince Salman Ibn Abdul Aziz said the kingdom of Saudi Arabia has been characterized with the Islamic call, adding that the kingdom will go ahead on the path of Islam.
