Crown Prince Sultan Ibn Abdul Aziz, Deputy Prime Minister, Defence and Aviation Minister and Inspector General, has hailed the role of the Jeddah-based Business Administration College in preparing Saudis to meet the market needs.

He made these remarks in an address while patronizing the graduation ceremony of the first batch of students of the College.

The Crown Prince expressed his pleasure and pride to see them well-qualified to handle leading positions and stressed that all barriers to development and advancement would be removed.

Crown Prince Sultan, then, laid the foundation stone of Engineering and Information Technology College.

Crown Prince Sultan Ibn Abdul Aziz, Deputy Prime Minister, Defence and Aviation Minister and Inspector General, donated SR 20 million in support of the activities of the Jeddah-based Business Administration College in Jeddah.

Crown Prince Sultan graced the graduation ceremony and was received at the venue by Prince Mishaal Ibn Majed Ibn Abdul Aziz, the Governor of Jeddah, Dr Khalid Al Anqari the Minister of Higher Education, the Chairman of Board of Trustees of college Dr Abdullah Sadek Dahlan and the Chairman of the Board Dr Hisham Ibn Mohamed Nour Jamjoum.

After the Crown Prince took his place the students parade started then the ceremony the celebration started with reading from the Holy Quran. Then it was announced that the Crown Prince donated the SR 20 million to the college, and Prince Sultan watched a documentary on the establishment of the college and its courses.

The Chairman of Board of Trustees of college Dr Abdullah Sadek Dahlan delivered a speech in which he welcomed the Crown Prince and talked about the college, its establishment and its role in providing the work market with graduates. He said that all graduates have secured places with large private sector companies and this proves the success achieved by the college.

Then the Chairman of the board Dr Hisham Ibn Mohamed Nour Jamjoum delivered a speech in which he praised the support accorded by the leadership of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to governmental education. The speech of the graduates followed.

Crown Prince Sultan Ibn Abdul Aziz delivered his speech in which he praised the college and its achievements and those who participated in the success of the college and its establishment.

Crown Prince Sultan, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defence and Aviation and Inspector General, said that youth should press ahead in their quest for academic and technological excellence and continue to march forward, whatever the obstacles.

"The thing that would make Custodian of the Two Holy Mosque King Abdullah the happiest would be to see the success of vital projects that serve the youth," the Crown Prince said at the ceremony to mark the establishment of a new college of Engineering and Information Technology and the convocation of the first group of graduates of the College of Business Administration in Jeddah.

The Chairman of Board of Trustees of the College of Business Administration Dr Abdullah Sadek Dahlan said the attendance of the Crown Prince is a continuation of the care given to private colleges and to his encouragement to investors to be part of this development. He added that investment in the education is the best of all investments and called on the Ministry of Finance to activate the Council of Ministers decision to support education with SR 50 million.

He said this was the first private college to receive accreditation from the Ministry of Higher Education.

The college offers specializations in various aspects of management such as financing, accounting, human resources management, marketing and management information systems, Dr Dahlan said.

In the presence of the Crown Prince, 200 men and 50 women received their degrees. Describing the features of the courses in the college, Dr Dahlan said its graduates perfectly suited the requirements of the Saudi job market. All graduates have been promised jobs in various companies and banks in the Kingdom, the Chairman said. The college is also linked with the King Abdul Aziz University in various projects.

The courses in the new college of engineering and information technology, the foundation stone of which was laid by the crown prince, are designed so that its graduates will fill the gap in the number of high-tech Saudi engineers needed in the rapidly growing IT and related fields.

Dr Dahlan hoped that Saudis would not need to go abroad to learn IT once the college became fully operational.

From his side the Chairman of the board Dr Hisham Ibn Mohamed Nour Jamjoum said investment in education is a long term investment and stressed that the increase in the number of undergraduates by 7% pa and the acceptance of only 9% of those who achieved high grades in engineering fields has encouraged them to establish the project of the Engineering and IT College.

He pointed out that the college will in the first year receive 120 students and in the fourth year 360 students. The number of registered students will reach 1700 and the girls section will be opened after two years. He added that the capital of the project is estimated to be SR 38 million.

The Dean of the colleger Dr Hassan Al Alwi said the college of Business administration includes several specialization in finance, accounting, human resources, marketing and administrative IT. He added that the college is the first to receive the accreditation of the Ministry of Higher Education and it includes 915 students and 385 girl students. The number of the first batch of graduates in 200 and 90% of them signed employment contracts.

Crown Prince Sultan Ibn Abdul Aziz, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defence and Aviation and Inspector General, has also patronized the laying stone ceremony of the training units, an affiliate of the General Establishment for Technical Education and Vocational Training in Jeddah.

The SR360 million projects include the construction and equipping of a college for the training of men trainers and another for women in addition to a higher institute of technology for women.

He was received at the venue by Prince Mishaal bin Majed Ibn Abdul Aziz, the Governor of Jeddah, and senior officials. Following the ceremony, the GOTEVOT also signed an agreement, in the presence of the Crown Prince, with the Abdul Latif Al-Fouzan Company for offering specialized training to the Saudi youth in retailing sector.

Crown Prince Sultan Ibn Abdul Aziz, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defence and Aviation and Inspector General, extended his thanks to the Minister of Education and Chairman of Board of Directors of the Saudi Arabian Scouts Society Dr Abdullah Ibn Saleh Al Obeid after he received the report of the Society concerning its participation in the meeting held in London under the name of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah Ibn Abdul Aziz.

Prince Mohammed Ibn Nawaf, the Ambassador to the United Kingdom and Ireland, had received the delegation led by the Secretary General of the Saudi Arabian Scouts Association, Dr Abdullah Al-Fahd.

They reviewed issues concerning arrangements for an international scout camp due to be organized in London in 2007 to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the establishment of the scout movement.

On the other hand Crown Prince Sultan Ibn Abdul Aziz, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defense and Aviation and Inspector General, received at his office at the Ministry of Defense and Aviation in Jeddah the ambassador of Kuwait to the Kingdom Sheikh Jaber bin Diaj Al Brahim Al Sabah who came to bid him farewell on the end of his assignment as ambassador of his country to the Kingdom.

During the meeting, the ambassador conveyed to the crown Prince the greetings of the Emir of Kuwait and his crown prince. In turn, Crown Prince Sultan sent his greetings to them.

The meeting was attended by senior protocol officials.

During the audience, they exchanged cordial talks and discussed matters of mutual concern.

The audience was attended by senior protocol officials.

Crown Prince Sultan Ibn Abdul Aziz, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defense and Aviation and Inspector General, received at his office at the Ministry of Defense and Aviation in Jeddah the U.S. ambassador to Iraq Zalmay Khalil Zadeh and accompanying delegation.

During the audience, they exchanged cordial talks and discussed matters of mutual concern.

The audience was attended by senior protocol officials and the U.S. ambassador to the Kingdom James Oberwetter.

In Al Khobar the Director of King Fahd University for Petroleum and Minerals Dr Khalid Al Sultan opened the education session on the role of education centres in the building the society at Prince Sultan Ibn Abdul Aziz Centre for Science and Technology in Al Khobar.

He said in his speech that the centre aims at simplifying complicated scientific ideas and topics and their applications.

The centre focuses on serving Saudi citizens in particular and other GCC countries' citizens in general.

The centre contains seven halls devoted for various areas of science and technology. They were carefully chosen to boost topics taught in Saudi education curricula.

The halls of the centre cover various fields including earth, space, seas and exploration.

On his part, Dr. Faleh Al Sulaiman, Director General of the centre, described the Prince Sultan Ibn Abdul Aziz Science and Technology Centre, established at a cost of SR230 million, as a gateway of science and technology.

The centre's innovative programs are designed to make learning fun and interesting and will play an effective role in the future of science and technology within the Kingdom.

The centre uses interactive and hands-on exhibits that engage visitors and makes learning science an enjoyable family experience, he said.

The attendance then watched a documentary on the centre, then Barry Lord Chairman of the Board of Canadiaa Lord Company specialized in building educational centres delivered a speech on the establishment of the building. The Dr Ahmad Al Mohandess, Professor of Mineral and Geology at King Saud University delivered a speech on the workshop.
