CROWN PRINCE SULTAN IBN ABDUL AZIZ REVIEWS WITH ABU DHABI'S HEIR TO THE THRONE THE SITUATION ON THE GULF, ARAB AND INTERNATIONAL ARENAS.
PRINCE SULTAN AT THE INAUGURATION OF THE NEW HEADQUARTERS OF THE SAUDI ARABIAN COMMISSION FOR HEALTH SPECIALITIES: SAUDI YOUTH HAVE MADE DISTINCTIVE ACHIEVEMENTS IN THE SCIENTIFIC FIELDS INCLUDING MEDICINE.
THE CROWN PRINCE OPENS THE GENERAL HOSPITAL OF AL-RASS AND LAYS THE FOUNDATION STONE FOR A NUMBER OF PROJECT IN AL-QASSIM.


Crown Prince Sultan Ibn Abdul Aziz, Deputy Prime Minister, Defense and Aviation Minister and Inspector General, held a bilateral meeting at his palace in Riyadh with visiting Sheikh General Mohammed Bin Zayed Al-Nahyan, the Heir Apparent of Abu Dhabi.

At the outset of the meeting, Crown Prince Sultan welcomed Bin Zayed, wishing him good stay in the kingdom.

On his part, Bin Zayed conveyed to Crown Prince Sultan Ibn Abdul Aziz the greetings of Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al-Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates. In turn, Crown Prince Sultan sent his greetings to Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

During the meeting, they reviewed the overall situation at the Gulf, Arab and international arenas, notably the situation in the Palestinian territories and in Iraq in addition to discussing aspects of cooperation between the two countries, and ways of enhancing them in all fields.

Crown Prince Sultan Ibn Abdul Aziz, the Deputy Prime Minister, Defense And Aviation Minister And Inspector General, held a lunch party in honour of Sheikh General Mohammed Bin Zayed Al-Nahyan, the Heir Apparent Of Abu Dhabi, and the accompanying delegation in Riyadh.

The function was attended by Prince Abdul Rahman Ibn Abdul Aziz, Deputy Minister of Defense and Aviation and Inspector General, Prince Salman Ibn Abdul Aziz, Governor of Riyadh region, other princes and senior officials.

Sheikh General Mohammed Bin Zayed Al-Nahyan, the Heir Apparent of Abu Dhabi and the accompanying delegation arrived on a visit to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

He was welcomed at Riyadh airbase airport by Crown Prince Sultan Ibn Abdul Aziz, the Deputy Prime Minister, Defense and Aviation Minister and Inspector General, a number of other princes and senior officials.

Crown Prince Sultan Ibn Abdul Aziz, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defense and Aviation and Inspector General, inaugurated in Riyadh the new headquarters of the Saudi Arabian Commission for Health Specialties and graced the graduation ceremony of the ninth batch of doctors and dentists.

The graduates bring to 1576 the number of male and female doctors in 27 health specialties.

At the venue, located at the Diplomatic Quarter, Crown Prince Sultan Ibn Abdul Aziz was received by Prince Salman Ibn Abdul Aziz, Governor of Riyadh Region, Prince Sattam Ibn Abdul Aziz, Deputy Governor of Riyadh Region, Dr. Hamad Al Manea, Minister of Health, and senior officials.

Then Crown Prince Sultan unveiled the plaque of the new building and was briefed on its contents.

Addressing the gathering, Crown Prince Sultan Ibn Abdul Aziz urged the graduates to enter the field of international health competitions.

He called on the Commission to encourage scientific research through its electronic library.

Crown Prince Sultan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense and Aviation, urged the Saudi Commission for Health Specializations and other medical organizations to set out a charter of honour for professional medical practice based on the Islamic faith.

Prince Sultan made this comment during the ceremony to mark the opening of the commission's new headquarters in Riyadh and graduation of a group of Saudi doctors and pharmacists. The medical graduates were awarded certificates issued by the commission.

The Crown Prince commended Saudi youth for their achievements in scientific fields including medicine. He particularly praised the success of Saudi women in medicine, pharmacology and nursing.

"We are confident that they are capable of making more successes in the medical field," the Saudi Press Agency quoted him as saying.

He urged Saudi doctors to rise to the level of international medical fraternity in conducting original researches and making important discoveries. He instructed the commission to encourage scientific research.

Speaking on the occasion, Health Minister Dr Hamad Al-Manie said the Saudi health specializations department has been playing an important role in the health sector through contribution to the development of the vocational performance and skills.

The building project, which is to be built on an area of 7,336 square meters, will have audio-visual devices and a well-equipped medical library

The events were attended by Prince Abdul Rahman Ibn Abdul Aziz, Deputy Minister of Defense and aviation and Inspector General, Prince Abdullah Ibn Mohammed Ibn Saud, Prince Khalid Ibn Sultan Ibn Abdul Aziz, Assistant Minister of Defense and Aviation and Inspector General for Military Affairs, other princes, ministers and senior officials.

On another development Crown Prince Sultan Ibn Abdul Aziz, Minister of Defense and Aviation and Inspector General, attended the opening function of the 200-bed Al-Rass General Hospital built at a cost of SR202 million and laid the foundation for a number of health projects in the region. Qassim Governor Prince Faisal Ibn Bandar received Prince Sultan upon his arrival.

The Crown Prince laid the foundation of the Buraidah Hospital Tower, Al-Nabhania Hospital and Dr. Suleiman Al-Habib Hospital in Qassim region.

Speaking on the occasion, Health Minister Hamad Al-Manie said the 400-bed Buraidah Hospital Tower would be constructed at a cost of SR99 million and the 200-bed mental illness and rehab center in Buraidah will cost SR96 million.

The 50-bed Al-Nabhania Hospital is being built at a cost of SR20 million and the 100-bed Dr. Suleiman Habib Hospital at a cost of SR163 million, he added.

Crown Prince Sultan called for the establishment of an international center for studies and research of camels. He made the call while opening an international scientific conference on camels at Qassim University.

"I hope the results of your research will serve as a nucleus for an international information center on the camel," Crown Prince Sultan told the scientists and researchers taking part in the conference.

He urged specialized Saudi companies and universities to support the center and make use of its research works.

The Crown Prince also spoke about the educational renaissance brought about by Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah by opening new universities in different parts of the country and supporting research centers.

"You know the significance of camels in the life of Arabs as well as other nations. God Almighty has urged Muslims to think about this great creature and the secrets of its creation," Sultan said and urged the participants of the conference to make use of their research for the benefit of humanity.

Crown Prince Sultan had earlier laid the foundation for the College of Science, the second phase of the university campus, the main service complex, and the first phase of sports facilities. The four projects are estimated to cost SR370 million.

Khaled Al-Hamoudi, the university's president, commended the government's support for the university's education and research programs. He disclosed plans to establish health colleges and a hospital under the university.

According to Abdul Rahman Al-Humaid, dean of the College of Agriculture and Veterinary, some 300 experts from 24 countries are taking part in the conference. They will discuss different aspects such as breeding and rearing of camels, economic benefits, and common diseases and their remedies.

Prince Sultan later distributed souvenirs to sponsors of the conference. He also toured the university and inspected its modern academic facilities.

The Crown Prince arrived in Qassim on an inspection tour of the region.

In Buraidah Crown Prince Sultan Ibn Abdul Aziz, Deputy Prime Minister, Defense and Aviation Minister and Inspector General, inaugurated Al-Nakheel Plaza shopping center.

Upon arrival at the venue, crown prince sultan was received by Prince Faisal Bin Bandar Ibn Abdul Aziz, Governor of Qassim region, other princes and officials.

He cut a ribbon marking the inaugural ceremony, unveiled the center's memorial plaque and watched a replica of the center whose costs amounted to more than SR 250 million.

Then Crown Prince Sultan laid a foundation stone of a park project in the city. The Crown Prince was accompanied by a number of princes and officials.

Crown Prince Sultan Ibn Abdul Aziz, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defense and Aviation and Inspector General, gave a dinner party at his farm in Buraidah in honour of the people of qassim region.

The function was attended by Prince Faisal Bin Bandar Ibn Abdul Aziz, Governor of Qassim region, other princes, senior civil and military officials and groups of people.

Crown Prince Sultan Ibn Abdul Aziz, the Deputy Prime Minister, Defense and Aviation Minister and Inspector General, returned to Riyadh from Qassim region.

He was welcomed at the airport of Riyadh Airbase by Prince Naif Ibn Abdul Aziz, the Interior Minister, other princes and senior officials.

Crown Prince Sultan Ibn Abdul Aziz, the Deputy Prime Minister, Defense and Aviation Minister and Inspector General, received at al-yamamah palace princes; senior officials of the royal court, the Crown Prince's court and the court of the cabinet's presidency; senior commanders and officers of the royal guard and a group of citizens who came to greet and congratulate the crown prince on his safe return.

Crown Prince Sultan Ibn Abdul Aziz, the Deputy Prime Minister, Defense and Aviation Minister and Inspector General, received Commander of the American Central Command General John Abi Zeid and the accompanying delegation.

They reviewed issues of mutual interest.
