PRINCE SULTAN IBN ABDUL AZIZ, EMPHASIZES THE NEED FOR UPGRADING MILITARY SERVICE LAWS IN ORDER TO IMPROVE THE MILITARY'S STANDARD AS WELL AS PRODUCTIVITY OF ITS MEN. The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah Ibn Abdul Aziz received at the royal court at Al Yamamah palace in Riyadh the advisor to the Singaporean government Li Kwon Yu and accompanying delegation. At the outset of the meeting, the official conveyed to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques the greetings of the President of Singapore Sellapan Rama Nathan. On his part, King Abdullah sent his greetings to the President. During the meeting, they reviewed aspects of cooperating between the two countries in all fields. The meeting was attended by senior officials of the two sides. The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah Ibn Abdul Aziz also received a message from the president of Sri Lanka Mahinda Raja Pakse. The message was delivered to the monarch by the Sri Lankan Minister of Trains, Transport, and Petroleum Development and Supervisor Of Islamic Affairs Abdul Hamid Mohammed Fowzie during an audience with the king at the royal court at Al Yamamah palace in Riyadh. At the outset of the meeting, the Sri Lankan Minister conveyed to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques the greetings of the President of Sri Lanka Mahinda Raja Pakse. Also separately, the monarch received a delegation of the people of Unaizah province who lauded the progress and prosperity enjoyed by the kingdom in all fields. Addressing the gathering, King Abdullah thanked them for visiting him and promised to reply the visit, if it happened that he visits the region. The audience was attended by Prince Dr. Abdul Aziz Ibn Nasser Ibn Abdul Aziz, Prince Dr. Faisal Ibn Mohammed Bin Saud Ibn Abdul Aziz, Under Secretary of the governorate of Al Baha region, Prince Dr. Bandar Ibn Salman Ibn Mohammed Al Saud, advisor to the King and Prince Abdul Aziz Bin Fahd Ibn Abdul Aziz, Minister of State, member of the Cabinet and Chief of the Court of the Cabinet's Presidency. On the other hand and under instructions from the Custodian Of The Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah Ibn Abdul Aziz, who is also Commander-In-Chief of all the Armed Forces and Chairman of the Military Service Council, Crown Prince Sultan Ibn Abdul Aziz, Deputy Premier, Minister of Defense and Aviation and Inspector General, who is also Vice-Chairman of the Military Service Council, chaired the periodical meeting of the Military Service Council. The meeting was attended by several princes, ministers and senior officials. The meeting was briefed on a report on the performance of the council since its last meeting. A number of decisions regarding improving the working conditions of servicemen were taken. Crown Prince Sultan Ibn Abdul Aziz, emphasized the need for upgrading military service laws in order to improve the military's standard as well as productivity of its men. Prince Sultan made this comment while presiding over a meeting of the Military Service Council in Riyadh, which was attended by Prince Badr, Deputy Commander of the National Guard, Prince Naif Ibn Abdul Aziz, the Interior Minister, and Prince Muqrin Ibn Abdul Aziz, Chief of Intelligence. Lt. Gen. Nasser Al-Arfaj, Secretary-General of the council, said the issue of recruiting graduates of educational institutions has been presented to the Council of Ministers. "Another issue, relating to payment of full daily wages to military officers of the Interior Ministry, has been passed to the Shoura Council," he said. The meeting discussed changes into some articles of the military service law, including compensation for leaves and payment of two-month salary as relocation allowance for officers sent to a different place for a period exceeding three months and admission conditions at military colleges. Prince Naif Ibn Abdul Aziz, the Minister of Interior and Honorary President of the Arab Interior Ministers Council, handed over to Crown Prince Sultan Ibn Abdul Aziz, Deputy Premier, Minister of Defense and Aviation and Inspector General, a memorial gift presented to him by the Arab Interior Ministers Council in recognition of the efforts exerted by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in combating terrorism at the regional and international arenas, citing the kingdom's hosting of the international anti-terrorism conference. The audience was attended by Prince Miqren Ibn Abdul Aziz, chief of General Intelligence, Dr. Mohammed Kuman, Secretary General of the Arab Interior Ministers Council, and a number of senior officials. Crown Prince Sultan Ibn Abdul Aziz, Deputy Premier, Minister of Defense and Aviation and Inspector General, received at his office the advisor to the Singaporean government Li Kwon Yu and his accompanying delegation. During the meeting, they exchanged cordial talks and discussed aspects of cooperating between the two countries and ways of enhancing them in all fields to the benefit of the two countries. The Singaporean senior official presented a gift to Crown Prince Sultan. The meeting was attended by senior officials of the two sides. On the other hand Crown Prince Sultan Ibn Abdul Aziz, Deputy Premier, Minister of Defense and Aviation and Inspector General performed funeral prayers for deceased Prince Abdul Rahman Ibn Ahmed Ibn Mohammed Al-Sudeiri at Imam Turki Ibn Abdullah mosque.
