Prince Naif Ibn Abdul Aziz, the Minister of Interior patronized the graduation ceremony of the 44th batch of students of King Saud University.

Upon arrival at the venue, Prince Naif accompanied by Prince Nawaf Ibn Naif Ibn Abdul Aziz was received by Dr. Khalid Ibn Mohammed Al-Anqari, the Minister of Higher Education; Dr. Abdullah Ibn Mohammed Al-Faisal, the University's Director and other university officials.

A speech ceremony was held on this occasion.

Addressing the ceremony, Dr. Al-Faisal expressed his pride in the achievements of the concerned security authorities in tracking down individuals of the deviating group, noting that these achievements have been a source of satisfaction for all citizens.

The Saudi leadership stressed that this group has adopted a deviating thought and should be confronted by a correct ideology, he said.

Dr Al-Faisal stressed the importance of following the right path and concluded his speech by offering the graduates and their families his congratulations and best wishes for a fruitful future.

The speech of the students was delivered on their behalf by Prince Abdul Aziz Ibn Saud Ibn Naif Ibn Abdul Aziz. The Prince welcomed Prince Naif Ibn Abdul Aziz, Minister of the Interior and the attendance and expressed on his behalf and the students thanks and gratitude to the Minister of the Interior for patronizing the event.

Prince Abdul Aziz also addressed on his behalf and on behalf of the students their thanks and gratitude to their parents who gave the opportunity to study in this prominent establishment and urged his fellow students to serve their country.

Following the speech of the students Dr Wahib Isa Al Nasser, professor of Physics in Bahrain university delivered the speech of the Alumni in which he thanked the government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia under the leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Fahd Ibn Abdul Aziz, Crown Prince Abdullah Ibn Abdul Aziz, Deputy Prime Minister and Commander of the National Guard and Prince Sultan Ibn Abdul Ibn Abdul Aziz, Second Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defence and Aviation and Inspector General and officials in charge of education at King Saud who helped him throughout his education in this prominent establishment.

Then results were then announced and Prince Naif Ibn Abdul Aziz handed certificates of merits to graduates who achieved BSc, Master degrees and PHDs.

The ceremony was attended by Prince Saud Ibn Naif Ibn Abdul Aziz, Saudi Ambassador to Spain; Prince Mohammed Ibn Naif Ibn Abdul Aziz, Assistant Minister of Interior for Security Affairs; Prince Ahmad Ibn Abdullah Ibn Abdul Rahman Al Saud Governor of Diraya other princes; Sheikh Salih Al-Lehaidan, Chairman of Judiciary Higher Council; ministers and a number of officials.

After the event in a press statement Prince Naif Ibn Abdul Aziz, Minister of the Interior stressed that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has not received information about the detention of Iraqis holding religious fatwas issued by Saudi Sheikhs inciting on violence.

Prince Naif Ibn Abdul Aziz was answering a question about allegations from Iraqi media reports saying that the Iraqi security forces have detained Iraqis coming from Saudi Arabia with fatwas inciting on violence.

Prince Naif said that investigation into the plot to kill the Crown Prince continue and the results will be published in due time. Prince Naif congratulated the graduates and wished them success in their future.

Meanwhile Prince Naif Ibn Abdul Aziz, Minister of the Interior addressed a letter of thanks to the Assistant Director and the teachers of the 25th primary school in Al Rass, which is close to the terrorist cell in Al-Rass. The Minister's letter praised the wise behaviour of the Assistant Director and the teachers during the incident and their efforts in keeping the situation under control at the school.

On the other hand Prince Naif Ibn Abdul Aziz, the Minister of Interior, received the Secretary General of World Assembly for Muslim Youth Dr. Salih Ibn Sulaiman Al-Wuhaibi and members of Council of Trustees of WAMY who came to greet Prince Naif on the efforts made to eliminate misled groups.

During the meeting, they discussed issues concerning the Charity work in the Kingdom and Muslim countries.

Prince Naif stressed the unified efforts to fight extremist thoughts and protect the youth from misleading ideas.

Prince Naif Ibn Abdul Aziz, the Minister of Interior, thanked the Minister of Health Dr. Hamad Ibn Abdullah Al-Manei for the extensive care extended by the Saudi health authorities for those injured in the fight against deviant group.

Dr. Al-Manei expressed that this care is a national duty and obligation to serve the citizens.

On the other hand the Minister of Labour Dr Ghazi Ibn Abdul Rahman Al Gosaibi has hailed Prince Naif Ibn Abdul Aziz Al Saud's International Prize for the Prophet's Sunnah (Tradition) and Contemporary Islamic Studies.

In a statement on this occasion, Dr Ghazi Ibn Abdul Rahman Al Gosaibi said that Prince Naif's character has earned him a remarkable fame in the world.

On another scale and on behalf of Prince Sultan Ibn Abdul Aziz, Second Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defence and Aviation and Inspector General, Prince Sattam Ibn Abdul Aziz, Deputy Governor of Riyadh region has patronized the opening ceremony of the Symposium on Engineers and their role in building the National Economy. The event was held at King Fahd cultural centre in Riyadh.

Upon arrival Prince Sattam was received by the Minister of Economy and Planning and Deputy Minister of Trade and Industry Khaled Ibn Mohammed Al Gosaibi, members of the board of directors of the Saudi Organisation for Engineers, and the Chairman of the board of directors of the Saudi Organisation for Engineers Engineer Saleh Ibn Abdul Rahman Al Amr.

The celebration started with readings from the Holy Quran then the speech of Prince Sultan Ibn Abdul Aziz Second Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defence and Aviation and Inspector General, was delivered on his behalf by Prince Sattam Ibn Abdul Aziz.

In the speech Prince Sattam expressed his pleasure of representing Prince Sultan Ibn Abdul Aziz in the opening ceremony of the Symposium on Engineers and their role in building the National Economy in the first session of the board which was held at the same time during the meeting of the general assembly of the Organisation of Saudi Engineers.

The Prince said the symposium reflects the role of engineers and the responsibility they shoulder in their society and the importance of their role in building human civilizations, serving humanity through knowledge, use of modern technologies and the implementation and maintenance of projects.

The Prince added called on all those interested in the field of engineering service to support the Saudi Organization for Engineers and help it.

Prince Sattam stressed the importance of Engineering in the country and care accorded by the government to this field.

The Prince ended his speech wishing the Engineers and their organization every success and a fruitful future.

Prince Sattam Ibn Abdul Aziz, Deputy Governor of Riyadh region then announced the donation of Prince Sultan Ibn Abdul Aziz, Second Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defence and Aviation and Inspector General of SR 5 million to the Saudi Engineers' Organization.

The Prince then honoured the sponsors of the symposium and received a memorial gift on behalf of Prince Sultan Ibn Abdul Aziz.

Prince Sattam Ibn Abdul Aziz, Deputy Governor of Riyadh region toured the pavilions of the exhibition in which a number of companies are participating.

In Riyadh Prince Abdul Rahman Ibn Abdul Aziz, the Deputy Minister of Defense and Aviation, patronized in the presence of Prince Naif Ibn Abdul Aziz, Minister of the Interior the concluding ceremony of Al-Riyadh schools for boys and girls.

Prince Abdul Rahman was received at the venue by Prince Salman Ibn Abdul Aziz, the Governor of Riyadh region, the Honorary Chairman, the Minister of Education Dr Abdullah Ibn Saleh Al Obaid, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the schools Dr Nasser Al Daoud, members of the Board of Directors, the General Director of he Schools Abdul Rahman Al Ajaji as well as the Director of the Boys schools Fahd Al Barak and a number of teaching and administrative staff.

The ceremony started with readings from the Holy Quran then the General Director of the schools Abdul Rahman Al Ajaji delivered a speech in which he welcomed Prince Abdul Rahman Ibn Abdul Aziz and his accompaniment and thanked him for patronizing the event to honour distinctive students.

In his speech the Director said that the care of the leadership about education is not only limited to the financial side but also to the moral side through their participation and follow up of all progress achieved in this field.

He went on to say that the schools with the follow-up of Prince Salman Ibn Abdul Aziz, Honorary Chairman of the schools, the Chairman of the Board of Directors and members of the board will remain the oasis of education and distinctive performance. He added that the schools are equipped with the most modern ways of education and provides to its students a very distinctive education and the school is moving to the new era of using modern technologies in education as it has concluded the building of the largest IT network and has established its Information Technology department where teachers have received full training.

He added that the schools open their door to all events and follow up and hosts a large number of cultural and educational events.

He told the students that they are the hope for the future of the country and advised them to take advantage of all the facilities provided to them by the leadership of the Kingdom that does not spare any efforts to offer its youngsters with the best educational opportunities.

He then expressed his thanks and gratitude to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Fahd Ibn Abdul Aziz, Crown Prince Abdullah Ibn Abdul Aziz, Deputy Prime Minister and Commander of the National Guard and Prince Sultan Ibn Abdul Aziz, Second Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defence and Aviation and Inspector General for their continuous efforts to serve the country and the citizens and their support to the development of education in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Then the student Prince Saud Ibn Salman Ibn Abdul Aziz at the secondary schools delivered the speech of the students in which he said that the schools enjoys a prominent position in all educational, cultural and scientific fields with the grace of God the Almighty and the care of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Fahd Ibn Abdul Aziz, his entrusted Crown Prince and the Second Deputy Prime Minister.

Prince Saud welcomed Prince Salman Ibn Abdul Aziz and praised his leadership for the schools and his continuous support. He also lauded the efforts of the Board of Directors.

Prince Abdul Rahman Ibn Abdul Aziz was then presented with the memorial school armour and the ceremony then ended and Prince Abdul Rahman left the venue.

On the other hand Assistant Minister of Defense and Aviation and Inspector General for Military Affairs Prince Khalid Ibn Sultan Ibn Abdul Aziz arrived in Hafer Al-Baten, to patronize the Defense forces' exercise of patriot launching in the Northern Region.

Prince Khalid Ibn Sultan Ibn Abdul Aziz was received at King Khalid Military airport by Commander of Air Defense Forces Lieutenant General Attiyah Ibn Abdul Hameed Al-Touri and a number of Military officials.

Prince Khalid Ibn Sultan Ibn Abdul Aziz, Assistant Minister of Defense and Aviation and Inspector General for Military Affairs, patronized the Air Defense forces' exercise of patriot launching in the Northern Region.

Upon arrival at the venue, he was received by Commander of Air Defense Forces Lieutenant General Attiyah Ibn Abdul Hameed Al-Touri and a number of military officials.

Then Prince Khalid Ibn Sultan visited King Fahd 6th Brigade. The prince graced a luncheon held by the Command of the Northern Region.

A speech ceremony was held on this occasion.

In his speech, the prince conveyed the greetings of Prince Sultan Ibn Abdul Aziz, Second Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defense and Aviation and Inspector General to servicemen in the region, noting that Prince Sultan has been keen on developing, servicing and continually modernizing the armed forces.

Prince Khalid Ibn Sultan congratulated the servicemen who took part in the exercise for their accuracy and visited the different units which took part in the manoeuvres.

Prince Khalid Ibn Sultan Ibn Abdul Aziz, Assistant Minister of Defense and Aviation and Inspector General for Military Affairs, then visited the Sixth King Khaled brigade where he was received by Staff Major General Mutlak Al Azmei and Staff Brigadier Ali Hassan Assir and a number of high-ranking officers.

Prince Khalid Ibn Sultan then toured the maintenance section in the Northern region base then attended the luncheon held on the occasion.

Assistant Minister of Defense and Aviation and Inspector General for Military Affairs Prince Khalid Ibn Sultan Ibn Abdul Aziz then left Northern Region after patronizing the exercise of patriot launching.

He was seen off at King Khalid Military City airport by Commander of the Northern Region Major General Aboud Nafi Al-Harbi and a number of Military officials.

On the other hand the Shoura Council held the first meeting of its fourth session presided over by its Chairman Sheikh Dr. Salih Ibn Homaid.

The Chairman delivered a speech in which he thanked Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Fahd Ibn Abdul Aziz for opening the fourth session of the council.

The Chairman hailed the royal speech and its contents including the wise directives to the council and main features of the state's domestic and external policies.

Sheikh Dr. Salih Ibn Homaid thanked Saudi leaders for the support they give to the council.

The Shoura (Consultative) Council held its first regular session after the recent reshuffle and formed 12 sub-committees that included those on foreign affairs, security, human rights, finance, economy and energy.

Dr. Saleh Ibn Homaid, the council's chairman, thanked Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Fahd Ibn Abdul Aziz for rejuvenating the consultative body by increasing its strength from 120 members to 150.

King Fahd inaugurated the new council and said Saudi Arabia would go ahead with political and economic reforms. The king's speech dealt with foreign policy, economic liberalization, privatization programs and women's employment.

"I am sure that the coming sessions of the Shoura will witness qualitative changes in terms of responsibilities, powers, structure and mode of work," Ibn Humaid said. He welcomed the new members and thanked outgoing members for their contributions.

During the last four-year term, the council debated 438 vital topics, adopted 387 resolutions regarding laws, agreements, charters and annual reports of ministries and government departments, Ibn Humaid said. He added that the council members had full freedom to express their views openly.

Dr. Saleh Al-Malik, Secretary General of the council, said the sub-committees met to choose their chairmen and vice chairmen. The Foreign Affairs Committee includes Dr. Ismail Shouri, Dr. Bandar Al-Aiban, Dr. Abdullah Bukhari and Dr. Muhammad Al-Hulwa while the Islamic Affairs and Human Rights Committee includes Abdul Mohsen Al-Obaikan, Saad Al-Harbi, Abdullah Al-Ajlan and Abdul-Aziz Al-Rabeea. Prominent members on the Financial Affairs Committee are Dr. Osama Abu Gharara, Dr. Walid Arab Hashim, Dr. Muhammad Ehsan Buhulaiga, Osama Kurdi and Dr. Abdul Aziz Al-Oraier. The Economic Affairs and Energy Committee includes Dr. Basim Al-Ibrahim, Dr. Abdul Rahman Al-Zamil and Dr. Bandar Hajjar.

The council also approved a memorandum of understanding and two agreements between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Yemen for cooperation in different fields between the two sides, Secretary General of the Shoura Council Dr. Salih Al Malik said in a statement following the session.

The council also agreed on the kingdom's accession to the Convention on the Privileges and Immunities of the United Nations, adopted by the UN General Assembly on Feb. 13, 1946, he said.

The council also approved Stockholm Convention on Persistent Organic Pollutants, the secretary general said.
