Crown Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Deputy Premier, Minister of Defense and Aviation and Inspector General, who is also leader of the Saudi side to the Saudi Qatari Coordination Council (SQCC), received at his palace in Riyadh Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad bin Jassim Al Thani, Crown Prince of the State of Qatar, who also serves as leader of his country's side to the SQCC, Sheikh Hamad bin Jassim bin Jabr Al Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, and members of the Qatari delegation taking part in the Council's meeting.

At the outset of the meeting, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani conveyed the greetings of Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, Emir of Qatar, to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and his Crown Prince. In turn, Crown Prince Sultan sent the monarch's and his greetings to the Emir of Qatar.

The audience was attended by Prince Naif bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Second Deputy Premier and Minister of Interior who is also Deputy leader of the Saudi side to the SQCC; Prince Saud Al-Faisal, Minister of Foreign Affairs; Dr. Musaed bin Mohammed Al-Aiban, Minister of State and Member of the Cabinet; Dr. Ibrahim bin Abdulaziz Al-Assaf, Minister of Finance; Dr. Abdulaziz bin Mohieddin Khoja, Minister of Culture and Information; Abdullah bin Ahmed Zainal, Minister of Commerce and Industry; Dr. Nizar bin Obaid Madani, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs; and Ahmed bin Ali Al-Gahtani, Saudi Ambassador to Qatar.

Prince Sultan and Sheikh Tamim co-chaired the 3rd round of the SQCC held at Crown Prince Sultan's palace in Riyadh.

Addressing the meeting, Crown Prince Sultan welcomed the Qatari delegation, extending to them the greetings of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and wishing them every success.

He lauded the achievements of the Council over the past period since its establishment. The challenges facing our region entitle us to strictly follow the approach of political consultation, security enhancement and joint action in all fields, he said.

He praised as satisfactory the level of bilateral relations between the two countries, wishing them to go far in the benefit of the two peoples and countries under the prudent leaderships of the two countries.

Given the chance, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad bin Jassim Al Thani conveyed the greetings of Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, Emir of Qatar, to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and his Crown Prince, wishing them continuous health and happiness and the Saudi people steady progress and prosperity. He thanked the Saudi side for warm welcome and generous hospitality accorded to him and his delegation.

He expressed satisfaction over the achievements of the young Council in the field of cooperation and enhancement of consultation under the prudent instructions of the leaderships of the two countries.

Then four agreements and memoranda of understanding between the two countries were signed. They covered security cooperation, anti-drug combat and protection and maintenance of meteorology.

On the Qatari side, the meeting was attended by Sheikh Hamad bin Jassim bin Jabr Al Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs; Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani, Minister of State for Interior Affairs; Ahmed bin Abdullah Al Mahmoud, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs; Youssef bin Hussein Kamal, Minister of Economy and Finance; Sheikh Jassem bin Abdulaziz bin Jassem Al Thani, Minister of Business and Commerce; Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa Al Thani, Director of the office of the Crown Prince; Sheikh Hasan bin Khalid Al Thani, Secretary to the Emir of Qatar for family affairs; Sheikh Khalid bin Jassem Al Thani, President of the Qatari Chamber of Commerce and Industry; Saif AlBuainain, Assistant Foreign Minister; Ali bin Abdullah Al Mahmoud, Qatari Ambassador to the Kingdom, Abdullah bin Eid Al-Silaiti, Director of the office of the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior; and Youssef bin Isa Al-Jaber, Coordinator of the Qatari side to the SQCC.

The Council issued a joint statement which said that in implementation of the directives of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah Ibn Abdulaziz Al Saud and Crown Prince Sultan Ibn Abdulaziz Al Saud, and Qatar's Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, and Qatari Crown Prince Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani; the Council held its 3rd session to develop bilateral relations between the two countries and to enhance and deepen the ties of distinguished brotherhood between their two peoples in political, security, financial, economic, trade, investment, cultural, information and other fields for the interests of the two brotherly countries and their peoples.

The session was attended by Prince Naif Ibn Abdulaziz, Second Deputy Premier and Minister of Interior and Deputy Head of the Saudi side to the Council, and Sheikh Hamad Bin Jassim Bin Jabr Al Thani, Prime Minister and Foreign Minister and Deputy Head of the Qatari side to the Council.

The statement said that the Qatari Crown Prince conveyed to Crown Prince Sultan Ibn Abdulaziz the greetings and congratulations of Qatar's Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah Ibn Abdulaziz on his safe return to the Kingdom, wishing the King constant good health and happiness and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia steady progress and prosperity.

On his part, Crown Prince Sultan expressed the King's thanks to and appreciation of the Qatari Emir for his noble feelings, wishing Qatar and its people steady progress and prosperity.

The statement said that the two sides discussed the latest developments at the Arab arena, and confirmed the statement issued by the Ministerial Council of the Cooperation Council for The Arab States of The Gulf (GCC) in its extraordinary session in Manama, which stressed that the GCC countries are united in confronting any danger to any one of its states, full support for the Kingdom of Bahrain, the security and stability of GCC countries as indivisible, and commitment to common security and defense covenants and agreements. They emphasized that they stand with all their potentials beside the Kingdom of Bahrain and its people.

Meanwhile, Prince Naif Ibn Abdulaziz Al Saud, Second Deputy Premier and Minister of Interior met in Riyadh with Sheikh Tamim.

During the meeting, they reviewed bilateral relations and ways of enhancing them in all areas, as well as the latest developments at Arab and international arenas.

On the Saudi side, the meeting was attended Prince Saud Al-Faisal, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Dr. Musaed Bin Mohammed Al-Eiban, Minister of State and Member of the Council of Ministers.

On the Qatari side, it was attended by Sheikh Hamad bin Jassem bin Jabr Al Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Ahmed bin Abdullah Al Mahmoud, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs.
