Naif Arab University for Security Sciences concludes seminar on money laundering

GCC security research competition announced

Prince Naif Ibn Abdulaziz Al Saud, Second Deputy Premier and Minister of Interior, has approved the formation of a Committee to Study Floods Drainage in Hafr Al-Baten urgently according to a proposal of Prince Mohammed Ibn Fahd Ibn Abdulaziz, Governor of the Eastern Province.

Prince Mohammed Ibn Fahd Ibn Abdulaziz has directed the Committee which will start its works to prepare quickly a study on the risks of floods in the Governorate of Hafr Al-Baten.

Meanwhile, the College of Training at Naif Arab University for Security Sciences (NAUSS) concluded a five day program entitled: Money Laundering and Terrorism Funding. The course was attended by important members of the Ministry of Justice and has many important aims.

- To accurately define the concept and practice of money laundering and terrorism funding.

- To examine both traditional and modern methods of money laundering and terrorism funding.

- To examine international laws surrounding these crimes.

- To examine laws and procedures in Saudi Arabia surrounding money laundering and terrorism funding.

- Examining the problems and difficulties involved in prosecuting individuals for these crimes.

The program is overseen by Marwan Al-Mikhlafi from the College of Training.

Meanwhile, Prince Khalid Al-Faisal Ibn Abdulaziz, Governor of Makkah Province announced that the costs of projects under construction in Taif Governorate amount to SR 9.5 billion.

The Governor expressed his thanks to the Government under the leadership of the Custodian of The Two Holy Mosques, King Abdullah Ibn Abdulaziz for these large allocations to the Governorate as well as other provinces of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

In a meeting at the Local Council of Taif Governorate last week, Prince Khalid Al-Faisal expressed his pleasure over the projects in the Governorate following his inspection tour of the governorates of Makkah Province.

In a press conference, Prince Khalid Al-Faisal said, ' I thank Allah Almighty for the blessings of Islam and security, as well as (the Kingdom's) political, security and economic stability. I praise Allah Almighty for the wisdom of our leadership that has always provided us with great and useful initiatives. We have also been blessed with such a fine stability and financial abundance bestowed upon us during this golden age.'

On the other hand, Prince Khalid Al-Faisal met with the students of Taif University and conveyed to them the greetings of the King, the Crown Prince and the Second Deputy Premier, stressing that the youth are the best ones who carry the message of this country and assume the responsibility of preparing themselves very well for the present time.

Meanwhile, the secretariat of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member states has announced its Competition on Security Research for 2013, its topics, conditions of candidacy, components, procedures and dates to apply.

'Awareness Programs in Light of Security Challenges Facing GCC Youth ' was defined as the title of the competition on Security Research for 2013.
