King Abdullah receives Mufti, Secretary-General of the Muslim World League, participants in Islamic World Conference

Conference concluded

The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud received at his palace in Jeddah the Kingdom's Mufti, Sheikh Abdulaziz bin Abdullah Al Al-Sheikh, who is also Chairman of the Senior Ulema Commission, the Religious Research Administration and Ifta and the Chairman of the Constituent Council of the Muslim World League (MWL) ; Dr. Abdullah bin Abdulmohsen Al-Turki, the Secretary General of MWL, and participants in the Islamic World Conference: Issues and Solutions, concluded this week.

Al Al-Sheikh addressed the gathering, briefing the monarch of the outcome of the conference which was attended by more than 250 representatives of Muslim communities.

He said the conference tackled a number of problems shaking the Islamic world, calling for holding this conference on annual bases.

On behalf of the participants, Al Al-Sheikh thanked the monarch for warm welcome and generous hospitality accorded to the delegates.

Abdulrahman Suwar Al-Dhahab, President of the Council of Trustees of the Islamic Call, then addressed the monarch on behalf of the participants.

He thanked the King for hosting this event, lauding the stability and prosperity enjoyed by the Kingdom, thanks to its prudent leadership and the adherence to the Holy Quran and Prophet's Sunnah.

The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud delivered a speech in which he urged the audience to defend Islam.

The king said that some Muslims are destroying the Islamic world by spread division and non-Islamic matters adding that Islam is victorious and that every month, between 400 and 500 people embrace Islam despite the destruction in the Islamic world by some Muslims who should be banished for that.

The king urged the audience to adhere to the sound course of Islam and stressed that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is always ready to serve Islam.

The king expressed hope that this meeting would be held annually.

The meeting was attended by a number of princes and ministers.

Participants in the 'Conference of Muslim World, Issues and Solutions' expressed their thanks to and appreciation of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah Ibn Abdulaziz Al Saud; Crown Prince Sultan Ibn Abdulaziz Al Saud, Deputy Premier, Minister of Defense and Aviation and Inspector General; Prince Naif Ibn Abdulaziz Al Saud, Second Deputy Premier and Minister of Interior; and Prince Khalid Al-Faisal, the Governor of Makkah Province, for their continuing support for Muslim World League (MWL) which organized the Conference and for their efforts in the service of Islam and Muslims all over the world.

In a final statement, the Conference commended the King's initiative for dialogue between followers of religions and cultures and its positive impacts on understanding, cooperation and peaceful existence among peoples of the world.

The participants emphasized the importance that the Islamic countries should pursue the approach of dialogue as a means to confront national differences and a way to reach successful solutions to their challenges, hailing in this regard the experience of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in the national dialogue.

They praised the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, which has been founded on the principles of the Holy Quran and Prophet's Sunnah, commending the Kingdom's efforts in the unification of Muslims' viewpoints.

They called on Muslim World League to implement the resolutions of Muslim World Conference for Dialogue held in Makkah in 1429H for the establishment of the Muslim World Commission for Dialogue and for formulating its programs to achieve its global objectives.

The statement called on the League to form Islamic delegations to visit Islamic countries and meet their leaders, also urging the activation of Muslim World Commission for Information to direct Muslim peoples on how to address their problems.

It also called on the League to prepare an Islamic Action Charter to address local and foreign challenges facing Islamic countries.

The Conference, sponsored by the Muslim World League (MWL), is held under the patronage of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Abdullah Ibn Abdulaziz Al Saud.

Its sessions were chaired by the Grand Mufti of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, President of Council of Senior Scholars and General Presidency of Scholarly Research and Ifta, and President of the League's Constituent Council Sheikh Abdulaziz bin Abdullah bin Mohammed Al Al-Sheikh, in the presence of the League's Secretary General, Dr. Abdullah Bin Abdulmohsen Al-Turki.

The sessions dealt with in-depth discussions on economic and social situations in Muslim countries as well as challenges facing them and means of addressing them by the Islamic religion.

Participants in the sessions commended the initiative of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Abdullah Ibn Abdulaziz for dialogue between followers of religions and cultures, calling on Muslim communities to adopt the approach of dialogue to achieve understanding and cooperation.
