A number of dignitaries commented on the 80th anniversary of the National Day of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

In statements to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), they recalled the announcement by late King Abdulaziz of a new political and social entity after unifying the once-fragmented country.

They stated that the founder founded the country on the bases of Sharia law, a great and historic achievement that led to the current stability in the country.

His sons King Saud, King Faisal, King Khalid, King Fahd and the current King the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud followed his approach of development.

They cited the great achievements witnessed by the Kingdom in all fields.

Those interviewed by SPA were Sheikh Ibrahim bin Shaye Al-Hoqail, Chief of the Court of Grievances; Prince Fahd bin Sultan bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Tabuk; Dr. Ahmed Mohammed Ali, President of the Islamic Development Bank; Dr. Hamad Al-Khathlan, Undersecretary of King Saud University for Knowledge Exchange and Transfer of Technology and Prince Badr bin Mohammed bin Juluwe, Governor of Al-Ihsa Province.

Prince Turki Ibn Sultan Ibn Abdulaziz, Assistant Minister of Culture and Information has described the National Day of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia which falls on Thursday, September 23rd, 2010 as a historical, cultural, and humanitarian occasion.

He indicated that the Founder - late King Abdulaziz Ibn Abdulrahman Al-Faisal Al Saud was a political leader of the first-class in addition to his strong belief in Allah Almighty and strong religious motivation to uphold the banner of the right, the revival of Islamic values and the application of Islamic Sharia.

The Prince pointed out that these values have been adhered to and followed up by the Government led by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah Ibn Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince Sultan Ibn Abdulaziz Al Saud, Deputy Premier, Minister of Defense and Aviation and Inspector General, and Prince Naif Ibn Abdulaziz Al Saud, Second Deputy Premier and Minister of the Interior.

Prince Turki noted that the eras of Al Saud Kings have become the epics of continuous developments, recorded great achievements that acquired the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia its right position among advanced and developed countries, and made the Kingdom over the past years a country with great influence on regional and international affairs.

He said, ''We have been living in a blessed march in a prosperous era characterized by local achievements, and leading international roles. The march is based on Islamic principles, adherence to national principles and moral and social values, stressing that it is the anniversary of the National Day of the homeland of pride, glory, dignity, security and safety. It is an occasion with historical, cultural and humanitarian contents.'

The Prince congratulated the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah Ibn Abdulaziz, the Crown Prince , the Second Deputy Premier, the royal family , and the noble Saudi people, on this occasion, praying to Allah Almighty for the Kingdom's continuing security, safety and prosperity.

Prince Sultan Ibn Fahd Ibn Abdulaziz, President General of Youth Welfare Presidency has said that during the prosperous era of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah Ibn Abdulaziz Al Saud, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has been witnessing many gigantic achievements and developments in all areas which have made the Kingdom a model of a contemporary state adopting the causes of developments and modernization in line with the Islamic religion and original Arab culture.

On the occasion of the 80th National Day of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, he said during the King Abdullah's era sports, youth and culture sectors such as other sectors have reached the peak of excellence at international and continental arenas.

Prince Sultan Ibn Salman Ibn Abdulaziz, President of Saudi Commission for Tourism and Antiquities has commended the Saudi leadership for the continuing great developments and achievements in all fields that acquired the Kingdom the right position among the advanced countries.

On the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the Kingdom's National Day, he said that the Saudi leadership has set civilization and economic developments as key objectives to be achieved through follow up, support for modern projects and plans, and enacting of new regulations to keep abreast with rapid developments aiming to achieve the advanced standards witnessed by the people of the Kingdom at present.

The Saudi Leadership has been giving a great attention to the development and expansion of the Two Holy Mosques as well as providing modern and advanced services at other sacred places.

The Saudi government has spent more than SR 70 billion for the expansion and provision of modern facilities at the Two Holy Mosques in Makkah and Madinah. These great and modern facilities have helped millions of visitors and pilgrims to perform their rituals and offer prayers in ease and comfort.

The Kingdom's Founder - the late King Abdulaziz, and his sons King Saud, King Faisal, King Khalid and King Fahd did their best to implement development projects at the Two Holy Mosques.

Moreover, The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah Ibn Abdulaziz has issued his royal directives to complete the expansion projects at the Two Holy Mosques.

On 12-8-1368H, the late King Abdulaziz announced his plans to implement an expansion project at the Prophet's Mosque in Madinah.

On behalf of his Father, Crown Prince Saud ibn Abdulaziz laid the foundation stone for this project in the month of Rabie-Al-Awwal 1372H.

This expansion project added about 6, 024 square meters to the Mosque and the total area jumped to 16, 327 square meters. During the era of King Faisal, about 5,504 square meters were added to the Prophet's Mosque.

At King Khalid's era sunshades with an area of about 4,300 square meters were added to the Prophet's Mosque.

Undoubtedly, the project of King Fahd for the expansion of the Prophet's Mosque was the greatest expansion project. On 09-02-1405H, King Fahd laid the foundation stone for the expansion project.

On his part, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah ibn Abdulaziz has given utmost attention to the Prophet's Mosque and to the Holy Places.

Subsequently, he has ordered to go ahead on the path of expanding the Mosque and to provide it with more sunshades.

The King has ordered to install 182 sunshades at the areas surrounding the Prophet's Mosque. He also ordered installation of other 68 sunshades at the eastern area of the Mosque.

These sunshades have helped worshippers to perform their rituals in comfort and ease.

All these projects aim at ensuring the comfort of the worshippers.

The Speaker of Majlis Al-Shura Sheikh Dr. Abdullah bin Mohammed bin Ibrahim Al Al-Sheikh said Wednesday that the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah Ibn Abdulaziz, has been a pioneering leader of modernization and reforms.

On the occasion of the Kingdom's National Day which falls on Thursday (September 23rd, Dr. Al Al-Sheikh pointed out that the King has remarkable qualities, notably his dedication to the service of his country and citizens in all matters, and in all provinces, in addition to his continuing commitment to update and develop regulations in all fields.

He noted that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia under the leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah Ibn Abdulaziz Al Saud, the Crown Prince and the Second Deputy Premier has preserved Islamic fundamentals and followed up the path of the Founder late King Abdulaziz Ibn Abdulrahman Al Saud.

The Speaker pointed out the King's continuing processes of modernization and reforms included judiciary, economy, administration and human development, municipal councils, education system and modernization of its curriculums, and tackling the crises of housing, employment, and poverty phenomenon.

He added that the King has set up the principle of the national dialogue and the culture of dialogue at home and abroad and worked for the protection of human rights in accordance with the basic law which derives its principles from the Holy Quran and Prophet's (PBUH) Sunnah.

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia attained remarkable progress in various domains during all years of its eight development plans, which have been drafted and executed after comprehensive studies, plans and future prospects of growth for prosperity and welfare of its people.

At the same time, the Kingdom has always remained keen maintaining good relations with all Arab, Muslim and friendly countries.

The soft loans extended by the Kingdom to these countries to enable them overcome their economic problems amounted to about SR 120.6 billion from 1991 up to 2008.

Meanwhile, the Kingdom has succeeded in attracting direct foreign investments which accounted for SR 552 billion by the end of 2009.

Saudi Arabia was one of the countries of G-20 which participated in its summit meetings held in Washington in November 2008, in London in April 2009 and in Toronto in 2010.

The initiative of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Abdullah Ibn Abdulaziz, announced at Washington summit, to increase the Kingdom's general expenditures by $400 billion within the next five years, has positively contributed to overcoming the global economic stagnancy.

A great attention was given to the educational sector and the number of male and female students in the Kingdom amounted in the fiscal year 1429-1430H to about 5.7 million who are assisted in their educational pursuits by an academic staff of more than 445,000 teachers actively participating in more than 33,000 schools.

In the field of health services, the number of hospitals amounted by the end of 1429H to 393 hospitals with an in-patient facilities of more than 53,888 beds in addition to 2000 Primary Health Care Centers. These hospitals and centers are served by 52,838 physicians, 15,862 pharmacists, 101,298 nurses and 52,000 members of paramedical staff.

In 1429 H, The number of wharves totaled 184 for the reception of all kinds of ships at eight sea ports.

In 2008 the Kingdom's production of crude oil amounted to about 3,366 million barrels, while the Kingdom's exports of crude oil in the same year amounted to 2,672.4 million barrel.

Thanks to the intensive efforts exerted in the field of updating the systems, the Kingdom's economy attained remarkable growth in 2008.

Saudi Arabia has 27 airports including four international airports which are capable of receiving all kinds of planes.

As regards power generation the productive capacity of the electricity companies amounted by the end of 2009h to 38,680 megawatts.

On the other hand, the Kingdom has also witnessed a great progress in the field of agriculture. By the end of 2009, the Kingdom produced more than 2.6 million tons of fresh vegetables and 1.62 tons of fruits in addition to 992,000 tons of dates.

The Ministry of Water and Electricity constructed by the end of 2009 more than 302 dams with a storage capacity of about 1.4 billion cubic meters of water.

Arrangements are underway to implement projects of about 100 dams with a storage capacity of more than one billion cubic meters of water.

In the industrial sector, the number of the productive factories amounted by the end of the first quarter of 2010 to 4, 600 factories with a capital investment of about SR 404 billion, employing about 528,000 workers.

The financial institutions in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia extended soft and interest-free loans to the citizens amounting to more than SR 396 billion.

The Real Estate Fund up to the fiscal year 1429-1430H extended about 571,000 loans with a value of more than SR153 billion.

Meanwhile, The Industrial Development Fund, up to the end of the fiscal year 1429-1430H, extended 2,694 loans for establishing and expanding 1,779 industrial projects in the various regions of the Kingdom.

The Saudi Credit Bank, up to 2009, extended about SR 26.5 billion worth of loans.

The Kingdom has been giving utmost attention to the service of the Two Holy Mosques and subsequently has spent more than SR 70 billion for the expansion and modern facilities at the Two Holy Mosques in Makkah and Madinah.

The Madinah-based King Fahd complex for printing the Holy Quran is considered as one of the most important printing centers in the world. It produced up to Shaaban 1430H about 226 million copies of the Holy Quran and the translation of its meanings in various languages.

The number of the sports clubs in the Kingdom has jumped to 156 while the number of the sports federations has jumped to 22.

The number of literacy clubs in the various region of the Kingdom now totals 16.

The Saudi officials have been giving utmost attention to the sports sector.

In line with the directives of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Abdullah ibn Abdulaziz and Crown Prince Sultan ibn Abdulaziz all the required sports installations have been constructed in the Kingdom.

The map of the sports installations which is under the supervision of the agency of technical affairs at the youth welfare stands as a witness for the keenness of the Kingdom on making sports facilities available notably youth centers and sports stadiums.

Thanks to Allah Almighty, the sports facilities in the Kingdom have been designed in line with the most modern international standards. and these have been implemented under the supervision of specialized international companies and houses in the field of construction and design.

The main building of the General Presidency for Youth Welfare is located on an area of about 9,000 square meters. It includes all required facilities and installations.

The building also includes a reception hall and a meeting hall as well as an auditorium, a studio, a data center, stores and maintenance offices in addition to a medical unit.

The sports facilities also include Prince Faisal Hospital for Sports Medicine which is concerned with the health of the sportsmen.

The sports facilities also include A special institute for preparing youth leaders.

King Fahd International Stadium stands as one of the most important sports facilities. It was a gift from the Late King Fahd Ibn Abdulaziz to the Saudi Youth.

The stadium, located north-east of Riyadh with an area of 500,000 square meter, was inaugurated on March 02, 1988. It has a capacity of more than 70,000 spectators.

The number of the existing sports cities in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia amounted to 17 and these have been transformed into an integrated network of sports facilities.

Arrangements are underway to implement the projects of King Abdulaziz sports city in Makkah; King Fahd sports city in Taif; King Khalid sports city in Tabuk; Prince Mohammed ibn Abdulaziz sports city in Madinah; Prince Sultan ibn Abdulaziz city in Abha; Prince Naif ibn Abdulaziz sports city in Qateef; Prince Abdullah ibn Jalawi sports city in Hassa; Prince Abdulaziz ibn Musaed sports city in Hail; Prince Saud ibn Jalawi sports city in Khobar; King Saud ibn Abdulaziz sports city in Baha, King Faisal sports city in Jazan, and Prince Salman ibn Abdulaziz sports city in Majma.

Meanwhile, the General Presidency for Youth Welfare has established stadiums under the name of sports centers in Riyadh (Prince Faisal ibn Fahd stadium), Dammam (Prince Mohammed ibn Fahd stadium) , and Jeddah (Prince Abdullah al-Faisal).

A number of Saudi envoys have congratulated the Saudi leadership and people on the occasion of the National day which falls on Thursday, September 23rd.

In statements to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), they have highlighted the prosperous era and great achievements at local, regional, Arab, Islamic and international arenas of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah Ibn Abdulaziz Al Saud.

The envoys included Saudi Ambassador to Pakistan Abdulaziz bin Ibrahim Al-Ghadeer, Saudi Ambassador to Australia and New Zealand Hassan Tala'at Nazer, and Saudi Cultural Attaché in Tunisia Ibrahim bin Abdulrahman Al-Tassan.

Saudi Ambassador to India Faisal bin Hasan Trad highlighted the anniversary of the National Day of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

In a statement to Saudi Press Agency, he stressed the significance of the occasion for the Saudi people.

The ambassador underlined the progress achieved in the kingdom during the last 80 years and the reform and development during the reign of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.

Prince Mohammed bin Nawaf bin Abdulaziz, Saudi ambassador to the United Kingdom described the National Day of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia as a great event of a great nation.

In a statement to the Saudi Press Agency, he forwarded his felicitations to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud; Crown Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Deputy Premier, Minister of Defense and Aviation and Inspector General; and Prince Naif bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the Second Deputy Premier and Minister of Interior, on the anniversary of the National day of the Kingdom.

He recalled that this is a great day in the history of the country marking the announcement by founder late King Abdulaziz bin Abdulrahman of a new unified and strong political and social being.

He cited the great achievements by the consecutive kings of the country. He paid special emphasis on the prudence and far-sight of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, citing the historic initiatives he launched in all fields of life.

Home to the two holy mosques, the Kingdom always seeks to maintain the interests of the Islamic and Arab nations as well as its domestic interests, he concluded.
