Deputy Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz Al Saud chaired the Cabinet session held at Al-Yamamah Palace.

At the outset of the session, Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz reassured everyone about the health of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, saying that he is doing extremely well.

Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz thanked Allah Almighty for the successful surgery the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques underwent, praying to Allah Almighty to bestow on the King continued good health and wellbeing wishing him a speedy recovery and safe return to the homeland.

The members of the Cabinet extended congratulations to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques on the success of the surgery, praying to Allah Almighty to bless him. The Deputy Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques welcomed Prince Miteb bin Abdullah bin Abdulaziz, Minister of State and Commander of the National Guard, as a new Member of the Cabinet, wishing him all success.

In a statement to Saudi Press Agency (SPA) following the session, Minister of Culture and Information Dr. Abdulaziz bin Mohieddin Khoja said the Cabinet reviewed a number of reports on the developments at Arab and international arenas.

On the occasion of the World Day for Solidarity with the Palestinian People that falls on Monday November 29th, the Cabinet renewed the Kingdom's firm and historical stances towards the Palestinian cause at all levels since the reign of late King Abdulaziz Al Saud to the reign of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud. The Palestinian cause has been a top priority for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia which made many peaceful initiatives to resolve the Arab-Israeli conflict and restore Palestinian rights. Such initiatives were met with Arab acceptance and consensus and international support.

The Cabinet also discussed a number of local issues, expressing appreciation for the efforts exerted by all governmental and non-governmental sectors to make Hajj a successful season.

The Deputy Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques extended the Cabinet's congratulations to the King on this success which owed first to grace of Allah Almighty, and then to the King's wise directives, the follow-up of the Second Deputy Premier who is also the Head of Hajj Supreme Committee, and all other governmental bodies whose cooperation led to an excellent integration in implementing security, protective, organizational and service plans which were put forward to ensure the utmost levels of security and safety for the pilgrims.

Dr. Khoja pointed out that the Cabinet appreciated the success of the concerned security services in foiling the criminal attempts of the deviant group abroad as well as the continued endeavors of its leadership to find a footstep for their members on the soil of the homeland; exploit Hajj and Umrah seasons to achieve their objectives; and to disseminate their Takfiri thoughts. The Cabinet also appreciated their success in foiling the plans of the deviant group targeting the security and potential capabilities of the country, citizens and residents.

Dr. Khoja said the Cabinet reviewed a number of issues on its agenda and issued the following decisions:

The Cabinet approved the amendments to the Convention on the Physical Protection of Nuclear Material to which the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia acceded pursuant to Royal Decree No. M/40 dated 12/07/1429H.

The Cabinet approved increasing the amount of monthly remunerations-no increase approved for the rest of allocations-for students on scholarships in Japan by 15% of their current allowance. In terms of fixing the exchange rate of Yen against Riyal, such remunerations shall be subject to what is approved for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The Cabinet authorized the Director General of Saudi Customs-or his deputy-to discuss and sign with the World Customs Organization a draft memorandum of understanding between the Saudi Customs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the World Customs Organization on approving a Customs Training Institute at the Saudi Customs and recognize it as a regional training institute.

The Cabinet approved the final documents of the Regional Radio-communication Conference (Geneva, 2006).

The Cabinet approved a number of appointments as follows: 1- Ali bin Abdulrahman bin Ali Al-Khalifa appointed to the post of Civil Consulting Engineer (Rank 14) at the Ministry of Defense and Aviation.

2- Abdullah bin Abed bin Abdullah Al-Harthy appointed to the post of Director General of the Minister's Office (Rank 14) at the Ministry of Education.

3- Abdullah bin Abdulaziz bin Mohammed Al-W'allan appointed to the post of Director General of Administrative and Financial Affairs (Rank 14) at the General Presidency of Youth Welfare.

4- Saleh bin Abdullah bin Saleh Al-Ghamdi appointed to the post of Oil Adviser (Rank 14) at the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources.

5- Abdullah bin Abdulwahab bin Abdulrahman Al-Nafisah appointed to the post of Director General of the Ministry's Branch in Riyadh Province (Rank 14) at the Ministry of Commerce and Industry.

Meanwhile, Prince Sultan has paid great attention to social development and has adopted many national and charitable programs and projects serving this goal.

The Deputy Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques stressed the importance of this issue in a statement written in the performance report issued by Sultan bin Abdulaziz Al Saud Charity Foundation recently.

He highlighted Sultan bin Abdulaziz Al Saud Charity Foundation's role in charity in the kingdom.

On the other hand, Second Deputy Premier and Minister of Interior Prince Naif bin Abdulaziz Al Saud said, in a statement to Saudi Press Agency on the health Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, said King Abdullah is enjoying good health and he walked on his feet inside the hospital and not as published outside the hospital. I wish good health to Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques.
