Vice Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz received at his palace in Riyadh Prince Khalid bin Sultan bin Abdulaziz, Assistant Minister of Defense and Aviation and Inspector General for Military Affairs, who is also Chairman of the Board of Directors of Prince Sultan International Prize for Water, and members of the board.

Prize laureates, who were announced and given away the awards the other day, were accompanying the delegation. On behalf of his colleagues, one of them thanked the Vice Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques on his initiative to launch this prize.

The audience was attended by Prince Dr. Mishaal bin Abdullah bin Musaed, Advisor to the Crown Prince, and senior protocol officials.

Prince Sultan also received at his palace in Riyadh a number of armed forces retired officers.

During the audience, the Vice Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques thanked them for the efforts they rendered to the armed forces during their service, wishing them success.

The audience was attended by Prince Khalid bin Sultan bin Abdulaziz, Assistant Minister of Defense and Aviation and Inspector General for Military Affairs; Prince Dr. Mishaal bin Abdullah bin Musaed, Advisor to the Crown Prince, and senior protocol officials.

Prince Sultan has donated SR 200,000 to Orphan Sponsorship Project in the Eastern Province.

Prince Turki Ibn Mohammed Ibn Fahd Ibn Abdulaziz, Chairman of the Project's Board of Trustees, has expressed his thanks to the Deputy King for this generous donation, which came as a continuation of his annual support for the Project.

The deputy custodian also received a message from Kuwaiti Emir Sheikh Sabah Alahmad Ajabir Alsabah to Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.

The message was delivered by the Emir's special envoy Sheikh Ahmad Alhomood Aljabir Alsabah during an audience.

The audience was attended by a number of princes and senior officials.

Prince Sultan also received the head of Morocco's council of advisors Dr. Mohammad Alsheikh Baidallah and the accompanying delegation.

Meanwhile, Prince Khalid Al-Faisal bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Makkah Province and President of Arab Thought Foundation opened the Arab Thought Center for Research and Studies.

The opening ceremony was attended by Prince Sultan bin Khalid Al-Faisal; Lebanese Minister of Education and Higher Education, Dr. Hassan Moneimne; Lebanese Minister of Media Dr. Tariq Metri; Saudi Ambassador to Lebanon Ali bin Saeed bin Awwad Asiri; Arab ambassadors accredited to Lebanon and a group of intellectuals and the media men.

Meanwhile, the World Body of Scientific Miracles in the Quran and Sunnah of the Prophet is due to organize its 06th international conference under the theme 'Impact of the Scientific Miracle on Human Mind' in the Turkish city of Istanbul next month, in cooperation with the Center for Islamic Research (ISAM).

The Secretary General of the Body, Dr. Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al-Mussleh said that the conference will discuss several topics in the science of medicine, life, astronomy, space, and the earth, and seas, and the humanities as well as legislative provisions.

On the other hand, the Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Eng. Mohammed bin Ahmed Jameel Mulla has signed an agreement with the Saudi Industrial Development Fund aimed at promoting cooperation between the two parties to transform the works of the fund into e-transactions.

The chairman of the Board of Directors of the Saudi Industrial Development Fund Eng. Yusuf bin Ibraheem Al Bassam signed on behalf of his organization.

After signing the agreement, which took place at the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, the Minster disclosed that the agreement has come in the framework of the Saudi Industrial Development Fund's efforts to develop and empower its e-transactions in conformity with the Royal instructions to transform all government agencies into e-transactions.

The Minister added that the agreement states that the e-government program 'Yesser' shall provide consultancy services to the Fund and determine the best ways to develop and upgrade the necessary infrastructure in addition to survey and document the services of the Fund and re-engineer its procedures in order to provide them online.

In a related development, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Saudi Industrial Development Fund Eng. Yusuf bin Ibraheem Al Bassam, disclosed that the agreement comes in the framework of the general trend of the application of e-government system using the advanced communications and information technology services available.

He added that cooperation with 'Yesser' will enable the Fund to implement its programs electronically regarding communication with customers of the Fund as well as to reactivate linking the Fund with government agencies through connection channels, integration channels and the secure net of the e-transactions of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology under the supervision of 'Yesser' program. This cooperation, he sad will expedite the provision of services by the Fund to borrowers, the Industrial Sector and Government Agencies in general.

It shall be noted that according to this agreement the e-government program 'Yesser' will supply the Fund with an advisory team to provide an advisory service on the provision of e-services by the Fund.

The team will make studies and evaluate the services provided by the Saudi Industrial Fund regarding efficiency and performance and the extent and utilization of communications and information systems in providing these services.

It will also specify and document the vision and requirements of the Fund for the next stage regarding the development and improvement of services in addition to the infrastructure and the necessary regulations.

The team shall also evaluate the gap and the difference between the present situation and the future vision and then prepare a strategy for the Fund's online services to include projects, programs and plans to implement this strategy which will be determined in coordination with parties related to the Fund.
