Crown Prince Sultan praises King Abdullah’s efforts to establish channels of dialogue, spread its culture

Prince Sultan: Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques’ message to open constructive interfaith dialogue

Crown Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Deputy Premier, Minister of Defense and Aviation and Inspector General, said that the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud has made great strides to push this country into the developed countries and societies zone while maintaining the country's Islamic and cultural character.

This came in a preface of a book titled 'Dialogue in the Thoughts of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud' recently authored by the writer and media figure Saeed bin Nasser Abu Melha.

The Crown Prince praised the noble actions taken by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, highlighting the King's role in establishing channels of dialogue at home and abroad.

'The great efforts made by my brother the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz in the field of establishing channels of dialogue, disseminating the culture of dialogue at the country level and promoting dialogue among the followers of religions, cultures and civilizations do worth certificates and recognition of the national and international arenas and historians. These efforts reflect the strategic vision of King Abdullah who provided all potentials for this country in order to become among the developed countries and societies, while maintaining the country's Islamic and cultural character', the Crown Prince said.

The Crown Prince considered the international message launched by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz, calling for opening a new chapter of constructive dialogue and mutual respect among the followers of religions and cultures, as a message from all Muslims all over the world. The proof of the success of this global initiative is the Islamic and international support for this call.

'Our country has accomplished many achievements as a result of the initiative of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques to establish King Abdulaziz Center for National Dialogue in 1424H. This center aims to promote national unity and enhance the concept of dialogue in the Saudi society in accordance with Islamic law. The center has so far been very successful in addressing many issues at the national level', the Crown Prince said.

'There is no doubt that this successful call for serious dialogue among citizens of one country was followed by a global call launched by King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz for holding a meeting between Ulema of the Islamic world at the International Islamic Conference for Dialogue in Makkah in 1429H. This meeting paved the way for the initiative launched by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques among the followers of religions and cultures. This initiative received substantial support. The dialogue initiative moved to international capitals and cities from Madrid to New York where it was adopted by the United Nations', the Crown Prince added.
