The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud chaired the Cabinet session held at Al-Yamamah Palace.

At the outset of the session, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques briefed the Cabinet on the talks he held with Lebanese President Michel Suleiman during his visit to the Kingdom. The King praised the depth of relations between the two countries and their keenness on enhancing such relations in a way that achieves the aspirations of the peoples of the two countries.

The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques also briefed the Cabinet on the contacts and consultations that took place during the past few days with a number of leaders of brotherly countries and their envoys, including the message he sent to Syrian President Bashar Al-Assad as well as his meeting with Prince Mohammed bin Talal, the Personal Representative of Jordan's King.

In a statement to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) following the session, the Minister of Culture and Information Dr. Abdulaziz bin Mohieddin Khoja said Cabinet praised the political, economic and social implications of the speech delivered by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques at Majlis Al-Shura to mark the commencement of the second year session of the fifth term of Majlis Al-Shura. The Cabinet stressed that the address of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques summed up the vision of the Kingdom in light of the challenges faced by the Arab and Islamic worlds that require sincere efforts to achieve security and stability for all.

Moreover, the Cabinet considered the visions and directives included in the address as an integrated program of action.

Dr. Khoja also said the Cabinet noted the progress achieved by Majlis Al-Shura during the previous years in the field of development witnessed by the Kingdom.

The Minister of Culture and Information Dr. Abdulaziz bin Mohieddin Khoja also said the Cabinet listened to reports on the latest regional and international developments, praising the outcome of the 133rd session of the Arab League Council.

On domestic affairs, Dr. Khoja said that the Cabinet addressed a number of cultural and scientific activities held in the Kingdom during the week, including the King's patronization of Riyadh International Book Fair where more than 650 publishing houses from more than 30 Arab and foreign countries are participating.

Dr. Khoja said the Cabinet reviewed a number of items on its agenda and issued the following decisions:

The Cabinet approved the addition of an article to Section (IV) of Chapter (V) of the Social Insurance Law issued by the Royal Decree No. (M/33) dated 03/09/1421H. The article shall be 58 (addendum) and read as follows: 'According to a decision by the Cabinet and based on a proposal by the Minister after a recommendation by the Board of Directors, the pension and benefit paid for the contributor and his family members may be increased and additional compensations may be developed to the extent permitted by the state of the financial position of the Organization.'

The Cabinet approved restructuring the two committees on the settlement of insurance disputes and violations in Jeddah and Dammam for three years as of 21/03/1431H. as follows:

1- Settlement Committee in Jeddah shall consist of:

A- Dr. Mohammed bin Ibrahim Al-Othman, Chairman;

B- B- Dr. Abdullatif bin Mohamed Basheikh, Member;

C- Mohammed bin Atiq bin Sulayem Al-Harbi, member.

2- Settlement Committee in Dammam shall consist of:

A- Dr. Abdullah bin Dughiam Al-Harbi, Chairman;

B- Saleh bin Ahmed Al-Ghamdi, Member;

C- Alawi bin Hussein Al-Hashem, member.

The Cabinet approved the organization of Social Charity Fund.

The Cabinet approved a number of appointments as follows:

1- Ahmad bin Ali bin Ahmed Al-Zahrani as Administrative Advisor (Rank 15) at the Ministry of Justice.

2- Abdulrahman bin Saeed bin Abdulwahab Abu Melha as Financial Advisor (Rank 15) at the Ministry of Transport.

3- Hussein bin Mohammad bin Abdulfattah Asiri as Minister Plenipotentiary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Meanwhile, The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud has sent a cable of congratulations to Egypt's President Mohammed Hosni Mubarak on the success of the surgical operation he underwent.

The King expressed his most sincere congratulations and best wishes to the President, praying to Allah Almighty to grant him good health and wellness.

Crown Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Deputy Premier, Minister of Defense and Aviation and Inspector General, has sent a cable of congratulations to Egypt's President Mohammed Hosni Mubarak on the success of the surgical operation he underwent.

The Crown Prince expressed his most sincere congratulations and best wishes to the President, praying to Allah Almighty to grant him good health and wellness.

President Mubarak's health is "satisfactory" after surgery in Germany to remove a gall bladder, the head of the medical team at Heidelberg University Hospital said on Thursday.

"President Hosni Mubarak's overall medical condition continues to improve in a satisfactory manner," Professor Markus Buechler said in a statement released by Egyptian authorities.

He also confirmed that Mubarak left the intensive care unit on Wednesday to a regular hospital room following Saturday's surgery to remove his gall bladder.

During the surgery, Mubarak also had a "benign" growth removed from his small intestine.

"The final pathology report has confirmed the benign nature of the tissues removed during the surgery." Buechler said.

"His convalescence phase in the coming days will include increased physical mobility to recover from all the effects of the surgical intervention," he said.

Mubarak, who has been on a diet of semi-solid food, is also due "to gradually return to normal diet" in the coming days, he added.

"The president will remain during this phase under our medical care and our direct and continuous supervision," Buechler said.

Mubarak has delegated executive powers to Prime Minister Ahmed Nazif until he returns to Cairo.

On the other hand, King Abdullah received at his ranch Prince Khalid Alfaisal bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Makkah region and President of Committee of Investigation and Fact-Finding into the causes of catastrophic floods of Jeddah as well as members of the Committee and its Secretary General.

During the audience, Prince Khalid Alfaisal bin Abdulaziz handed over the Committee's report to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques.

Then, the King watched a film on the catastrophic floods of Jeddah and was briefed on explanations of illustrative maps on the amount of rain that fell on the city of Jeddah, resulting in deaths, casualties and damage in homes and cars.

During the reception, all attendees listened to the prudent directives and views of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, regarding the tragedy of Jeddah.

The King expressed appreciation of and thanks to the President of the Committee and all its members for their efforts to prepare this report, praying to Allah Almighty to protect the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and all Muslim lands from disasters.

Under the patronage of Crown Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Deputy Premier, Minister of Defense and Aviation and Inspector General, the 2nd Local-Contents and Employment Forum will be convened on April 03, 2010.

In a statement to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), the Director General of General Directorate of Military Works at the Ministry of Defense Aviation Major General Eng. Saad bin Hamad Al-Rumaih said that the Forum will be organized by the Directorate and Technical and Vocational Training Corporation, noting that the Forum aims to discuss ways of managing local-contents of jobs and their suitability to changes in the working environment in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Meanwhile, Prince Khalid bin Sultan bin Abdulaziz, Assistant Minister of Defense and Aviation and Inspector General for Military Affairs, paid an inspection visit to the army forces stationed in Al-Khoba Province, Jazan Region, along the southern border of the Kingdom.

He visited the paratroops at Al-Dukhan Mount, the headquarters of the Tactical Command of the 14th Brigade, and Al-Khoba-based Command and Control Center.

During the visits, he was briefed by the office and field commanders on the latest situation on the ground, reassuring him that everything is satisfying and as planned.
