King Abdullah’s political, economic, cultural, security initiatives stressed Saudi Arabia’s keenness on interfaith, intercultural dialogues and achievement of peace

Prominent stops in ruling march at regional, international levels

Majlis Al-Shura's Assistant Speaker Dr. Abdulrahman Al-Barrak has highlighted the great achievements attained by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in the era of the Custodian the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah Ibn Abdulaziz.

In an article, on the occasion of the 5th anniversary of King Abdullah's ascendance to the throne, Dr Al-Barrak said allegiance is one of the bases of the Islamic rule.

He noted that allegiance means a pledge between the ruler and the people to establish a regime based on the Holy Quran and Sunnah (the Prophet's teachings).

Moreover, the Saudi government has been implementing this principle ever since the era of the first Saudi state.

The Allegiance-Pledge Commission was established in 1437H for naming the King and his Crown Prince from the sons and grandsons of King Abdulaziz, the Kingdom's Founder.

The anniversary provides a good opportunity to contemplate, revise and amend, he said.

Dr Al-Barrak said King Abdullah Ibn Abdulaziz is characterized by simplicity, firmness as well as keenness on getting acquainted with the affairs and problems of the people.

He pointed out that the Kingdom deserves to be called 'the Kingdom of Humanity' due to its generous assistance to the fraternal and friendly countries without any form of discrimination.

Dr Al-Barrak pointed out to the great role being played by Crown Prince Sultan ibn Abdulaziz, the Deputy Premier, Minister of Defense and Aviation and Inspector General, and Prince Naif ibn Abdulaziz, the Second Deputy Premier and Interior Minister, as well as the Princes, the ministers, Ulema (Muslim scholars) and all other civil and military officials in the service of their country.

Meanwhile, a number of princes and officials have commended the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Abdullah Ibn Abdulaziz Al Saud for the remarkable and gigantic accomplishments in all fields on the 5th anniversary of the King's accession to the throne.

In speeches and statements on this occasion, Prince Turki Ibn Nasser Ibn Abdulaziz, President of Presidency of Meteorology and Environment has described the achievements in all fields during the King's era as very important, noting that the developmental progress in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has become a pattern to be followed in the world.

He stressed that the Kingdom has been proud of its position in the world under the leadership of the King and the Crown Prince, pointing to the achievements in the fields of environment and meteorology during the King's era.

On their part, Prince Sultan Ibn Fahd Ibn Abdulaziz, President of Youth Welfare General Presidency and Prince Nawaf Ibn Faisal Ibn Fahd Ibn Abdulaziz, Vice President of Youth Welfare General Presidency said that the King has set the best example in the skillfulness of the leadership and his love for the homeland and its people, indicating that the Kingdom has been characterized by development and progress in all fields including the sectors of youth and sports in the era of the King supported by the Crown Prince and the Second Deputy Premier.

On his part, the President of Court of Grievances and Council of Administrative Magistracy Sheikh Ibrahim bin Shaie Al-Huqail has commended the King's era for developments, progress and efforts exerted in the service of Islamic nations in general and the homeland and its citizens in particular including the development of systems of magistracy and Court of Grievances.

He noted that the King allocated SR 7 billion for the development of magistracy facilities, indicating that SR 1 billion has been allocated from King Abdullah Project for the development of magistracy at the Court of Grievances.

On his part, Speaker of Majlis Al-Shura Sheikh Dr. Abdullah bin Mohammed bin Ibrahim Al Al-Sheikh said that we celebrate on the 5th anniversary a new era of political, and security stability as well as the national unity, social cohesion, and great leaps in all fields.

He highlighted that the King announced during his accession to the throne that he will adhere to the Holy Quran as a constitution and Islam as an approach and will be preoccupied with the achievement of right and justice and the service of all citizens.

On his part, Prince Abdulaziz Ibn Majed Ibn Abdulaziz, the Governor of Madinah Province, said that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia during the era of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah Ibn Abdulaziz Al Saud has achieved great civilization leaps, development and progress in all fields.

He said that the King has become an influential leader at Islamic and international arenas, noting his call for dialogue between followers of religions, cultures and civilizations of the world and the convention of two conferences in Madrid and Geneva.

In a statement on this occasion, Prince Mohammed Ibn Saud Ibn Abdulaziz, the Governor of Al-Baha Province said that the Kingdom during the King's era has achieved comprehensive progress and development in all fields, indicating that the Kingdom has set an example in tolerance and dialogue with others, thanks to the King's call for dialogue between followers of religions.

Dr. Tawfeeq bin Abdulaziz Al-Sudairi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Endowments, Call and Guidance, described the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud as the man of dialogue, saying in an article to mark the anniversary of the King's allegiance-pledge, that he laid the pillars of domestic, Islamic and international dialogue in an unprecedented effort in the recent history.

To celebrate the annual anniversary of the allegiance-pledge which falls on Wednesday next, Al-Sudairi said the anniversary comes with the King has already lived up to his promise to develop all sectors of the state, citing the huge jump in education and health.

For his part, the Director General of the Saudi Arabian Airlines (SAUDIA) Eng. Khalid bin Abdullah Al-Melham highlighted the numerous developmental projects achieved during the current era of the Custodian of the two Holy Mosques in all fields, particularly the service sector.

Over the last five years and under directives of the Custodian of the two Holy Mosques, SAUDIA has made great strides in the field of innovation, expansion, technology and performance.

He said SAUDIA has gone a long way in the project of privatization, citing the set up of boards of directors of a number of sectors of SAUDIA to proceed with this project.

With a passenger fleet of more than 100 craft, SAUDIA, the biggest carrier in the Middle East, was able to completely privatize the sectors of catering and cargo, he said, adding that the size of its traffic amounts to 18 million passenger annually in addition to a flight network extending to 80 domestic and international stations.

The Mufti-General of Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Chairman of Senior Scholars Council and General Presidency of Scholarly Research and Ifta Sheikh Abdulaziz bin Abdullah bin Mohammed Al Al-Sheikh has commended the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah Ibn Abdulaziz Al Saud for great and remarkable achievements in all fields at home and abroad.

In a speech on the 5th anniversary of the accession to the throne by the King, Sheikh Abdulaziz commended the King for calling for national dialogue and the unification of efforts in the service of the homeland for preservation of its accomplishments.

He thanked Allah Almighty for bestowing upon the Kingdom sincere leaders, adopting Islam as a constitution for governing and administering all social affairs.

The Mufti noted that the Pledge of Allegiance had been achieved according to religious principles and with the consent and the will of the people.

Sheikh Abdulaziz lauded the King for the completion of projects of the Two Holy Mosques, and in the holy sites as well as projects for the facilitation of Hajj rituals for pilgrims.

He indicated that the King has exerted his efforts for the development of religious institutions to improve their performance in addition to the establishment of new buildings and headquarters for important institutions.

Prince Saud Al-Faisal, the Foreign Minister, confirmed that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has occupied international deserved respect and status, thanks to its prudent and wise inherited foreign policy to which the policy of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud bestowed prestigious credibility and authenticity.

In remarks to mark the occasion of the fifth annual anniversary of the King's allegiance-pledge, Prince Saud Al-Faisal said the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud has assumed office amid hot regional incidents and developments and international accelerating changes, the effects of which were not confined to the threat of the region' and the world's security and stability but also extended to touch our country's sovereignty, citing the recent attack at the southern border.

Such changes have gone beyond the traditional political, security, and economic issues to hurt the culture of societies as an obvious result of the accelerating spread of information and media technology and movement, Prince Saud Al-Faisal said.

He added that 'to deal with these complications, the monarch managed to author a concerted combination of policies that support each other with the utmost wisdom, transparency and tranquility based on the instructions of the holy Quran and the Sunnah of his prophet'. This enabled the Kingdom to maintain its security and stability and proceed with the march of development without tampering its Arab and Islamic identity, he concluded.

He said dialogue was a main pillar of this policy, citing national, regional and international initiatives of dialogue.

He said the monarch's vision sees that the strongest weapon against evil is good and against hatred is amicability.

Carrying this message, he toured the east and west, the north and south, Prince Saud Al-Faisal said.

During this tour, the Arab and Islamic issues represented the core of the King's interest and thought, he said, adding that this was reflected in his foreign policy at the Arab and Islamic arenas.

He said the King's upset and pain about the Arab situation was apparent to everybody. Accordingly, he was not content with expressing his feelings or just call for solving the differences and healing the injuries, but took the initiative to put the Kingdom in the front of the march for Arab reconciliation and unification of word and position, he concluded.

Prince Sultan bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, President of Saudi Commission for Tourism and Antiquities has commended the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud for the civilization and economic development witnessed by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in all fields.

On the 5th anniversary of the King's accession to the throne, the Prince said in a press statement, 'Every citizen feels proud of the leadership of the King, the accomplishments in his era, respect and appreciation of the Kingdom at the international arena, and the international recognition of the King as one of the most influential leaders.'

He lauded the King's role in the promotion of tourism and antiquities sectors.
