The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Crown Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Deputy Premier, Minister of Defense and Aviation and Inspector General, made a speech on the occasion of the blessed Eid Al-Fitr for 1429H.

The following is the text of the speech which was delivered through the media by Minister of Culture and Information Iyad bin Amin Madani:

In the name of Allah, the most Gracious, the most Merciful, Praise be to Allah, and peace be upon the last prophet Mohammed and all prophets.

Brothers and sisters:

Peace and Allah's mercy and blessings be upon you. We praise Almighty Allah for helping us to fast the blessed month of Ramadan and to perform prayers. We pray to Almighty Allah for accepting it and we thank Allah for the advent of the blessed Eid Al-Fitr. We also pray for forgiveness, redemption from fire, and unity of the right guidance and way.

We are pleased to extend our sincere congratulations from this holy land on the advent of the blessed Eid Al-Fitr to Muslims all over the world, wishing you happy days full of love and happiness.

Brothers and sisters:

Eid Al-Fitr comes and we are in the vicinity of the secure Holy Grand Mosque. All male and female Muslims from the East and the West came to the Mosque, worshipping one God and asking for His satisfaction and paradise. They are united by bonds of faith and brotherhood of Islam. They meet in harmony, loving each other though their colors and tongues are different, and dealing in cordiality and mercy. There is no difference between the rich and the poor, the old and the young, the white and the black except for piety.

Brothers and sisters:

From the land of the Two Holy Mosques, the light of Islam radiated and prevailed over the world with its guidance, belief and right. On this holy land, Muslims met, fasting and praying and happy with their Eid. They disseminate love and peace in an era when we are in the greatest need than ever to see Muslim communities' link with Almighty Allah; love to his prophet (peace be upon him); adherence to their religion; fraternity to each other; tolerance towards others; unity for the good; and solidarity with each other. He is a good one whoever provides an example of the right Muslim to be pursued as our right predecessors have done.

Brothers and sisters:

We pray to Almighty Allah for many happy returns, the good, happiness and permanent recovery for citizens of the homeland; for glory, peace and security for the Islamic nation; for bestowing His blessings on all people; and for having mercy on the martyrs of duty who have been martyred for the sake of their religion, homeland and people, and for making Eid for them in His paradises.

Every year, you are the good for the whole world.
