Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques lays foundation stone for development projects in Jubail

Prince Naif bin Abdulaziz patronizes graduation of students of King Faisal University, King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals

Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz patronized in Jubail the ceremony of the Royal Commission of Jubail and Yanbu, the foundation stone laying and launching of 29 development and industrial projects in the city of Industrial Jubail with an investment of more than SR68 billion.

Upon arrival at the venue of the ceremony, the king was received by Prince Mohammad bin Fahd bin Abdulaziz, Governor of the Eastern Region, Prince Saud bin Abdullah bin Thonayan Al Saud, President of the Royal Commission of Jubail and Yanbu, Prince Jlwi bin Abdulaziz bin Mosaed, Deputy Governor of the Eastern Region, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Eng. Ali bin Ibrahim Alnaimi and other officials.

Then, the royal anthem was played.

Afterwards, two children presented welcome flowers to the king.

Then, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz toured the exhibition prepared by the Royal Commission of Jubail and Yanbu on this occasion. The king viewed the pavilion of the general education sector of the Commission and was briefed on the electronic education and other facilities of the Commission. He also viewed the pavilion of the company of SABIC.

The senior officials of the Commission, SABIC and other companies shook hands with the king.

After the king took his seat in ceremony's podium, a speech ceremony on the occasion began with a recitation of verses of the Holy Quran. Then, President of the Commission of Jubail and Yanbu Prince Saud bin Abdullah bin Thunayan Al Saud delivered a speech in which he said the king laid the foundation stones of projects with investments of SR34 billion and launched projects with investments of SR34 billion.

Prince Saud lauded support by the king and Crown Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz, Deputy Premier, Minister of Defense and Aviation and Inspector General, for these achievements.

Prince Saud highlighted the progress achieved by the Commission in various fields. He underlined the achievements and world records made by the Commission in the fields of engineering, industries' cooling and electricity and water production.

He congratulated the king on the 75th anniversary of the establishment of Saudi Aramco Company.

Prince Saud concluded his speech saying, "In celebration of your coming, I am happy to announce the desire of the honored parties to donate SR20 million for the establishment of a development projects in the city of Jubail Albalad... So, thank you..." Other speakers at the ceremony included Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of SABIC Eng. Mohammad Almadhi and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the company of Polypropylene Khalifah Almilhim who highlighted the progress and achievements of the two companies.

Then, the king honored the late Sheikh Abdullah bin Suleiman Alhamdan by granting him King Abdulaziz Sash of the First Rank as he was one of the men of this homeland who lived at the time of the late Founding King Abdulaziz bin Abdulrahman bin Faisal Al Saud, won his confidence and occupied the post of the first minister of finance in the kingdom.

The king handed the sash to Abdulaziz bin Abdullah Alsolaiman and Ahmad bin Abdullah Alsolaiman. Initialing his signature on the electronic screen, the King laid the foundation stone for a number of developmental projects affiliating to the Royal Commission for Jubail and Yanbu. They include the development of Al-Matrafiyah residential area, the development of the university compound- phase II in Jalmodah neighborhood, and the National Company for Industrial Gases (GAS).

The King also laid the foundation stone for a number of private sector projects. They are: Saudi Palermo Company (Chevron - Philips), expansion of Saudi Aramco Refinery, Bin Jarallah Group for Contracts Limited, Saudi Company for Solar Energy, Al-Khaleej (Gulf) Phosphates Factory, Al-Fanar Company, Al-Shargiya (Oriental) Petrochemicals Plant, Jubail Company for Energy Services, Saudi Company for Special Petrochemicals, and Trayomedi Plastic International Limited.

The monarch also opened a number of projects affiliating to Saudi Arabian Basic Industries (SABIC) including phase II of Jubail 2, expansion of the Saudi Methanol Company (Al-Razi), expansion of the projects of the Saudi Company for Iron Ore and Steel (Hadeed), Jubail United Company for Petrochemicals, and expansion of the National Company for Industrial Gases (GAS - 6), GAS - 7 Factory, an affiliate of Al-Razi.

The King also opened a number of private sector projects. They are: Saudi Company for Ethylene and Polyethylene, Jubail Advanced Company (Chevron - Philips Propylene ), Methanol Chemicals, Nama for Petrochemicals (Hasad project), Al-Khaleej Factory for Packaging Limited, International Company for Pipes Limited and Mada Plant for Fibers. Then the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques graced the lunch party held on the occasion. Receiving the same amicability, hospitality and honor accorded to him upon his arrival, the monarch left the scene.

The party was attended by Prince Mishaal bin Abdulaziz, Chairman of Allegiance- Pledge Commission; Prince Mit'eb bin Abdulaziz, Minister of Municipal and Rural Affairs; Prince Abdul-Ilah bin Abdulaziz; Prince Miqren bin Abdulaziz, Chief of General Intelligence; other princes, ministers and senior civil and military officials.

Prince Naif bin Abdulaziz, the Interior Minister, patronized in Dammam the graduation ceremony of the 29th batch of the students of King Faisal University for the academic year 1428-1429. As many as 9, 384 students have graduated.

Speaking on the occasion, the Rector of the University said the graduates include 20 officers from the Interior Ministry, adding that they obtained higher diploma in fire safety.

He noted that the number of the faculties of the University has jumped from six to 19.

The Rector pointed out that the SR5.4 billion have been allocated for expansion projects at the University.

In his address, Prince Naif confirmed the keenness of the Saudi government to exert all possible efforts in the service of the county and its citizens.

Prince Naif noted that top priority is given to Saudi citizens, adding that all officials are keen on enabling them to live an honorable life in an atmosphere of security and stability.

'We have been exerting intensive and serious efforts for the Saudization of the vocational, technical and administrative jobs, " he said. "For that we have made expansion at all stages of the general and higher education, as well as vocational education."

He noted that the Saudi universities and institutes have developed and diversified their programs and syllabuses to meet the requirements of the labor market in a manner that realize the ambitious development plans drafted by our wise government and conform with our creed and traditions without neglecting the swift developments taking place in the contemporary world in all aspects of life.

"The progress of our country in its present and future is bound with the efforts of its sincere sons who have been exerting all efforts to develop their country scientifically, industrially, culturally and urbanely. With the grace of Allah Almighty, you will lead our Kingdom to help it assume a distinguished rank it deserves among the civilized nations," Prince Naif said.

Later, Prince Naif received a memorial gift from the Rector of the university.

The function was attended by a number of princes, and senior officials.

Prince Naif bin Abdulaziz, the Minister of Interior patronized in Dhahran the ceremony of graduating 1405 students from various faculties of King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals for the year 1429H.

Upon arrival at the venue accompanied by Prince Sattam bin Abdulaziz, Deputy Governor of Riyadh region and Prince Mohammed bin Fahd bin Abdulaziz, the Governor of the Eastern region, Prince Naif was received by Prince Jelawe bin Abdulaziz bin Musaed, Deputy Governor of the Eastern region; Minister of Higher Education Dr. Khalid bin Mohammed Al-Angari and the University's Director Dr. Khalid bin Saleh Al-Sultan.

A speech ceremony was held on this occasion.

Addressing the ceremony, Prince Naif emphasized the role of education and its importance in strengthening the national unity, achieving positive participation in building the nation, and developing and maintaining its capabilities and resources.

He pointed out that ignorance only leads to weakness and humiliation and it makes nations incapable of meeting the challenges that threaten their existence, security and stability.

Prince Naif noted that educational institutions have achieved distinguished successes enabling them to provide the homeland with trained cadres capable of fulfilling the aspirations of The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and the Crown Prince so that every citizen finds work which fits his abilities and qualifications, meets the needs of the nation and leads the march of development to further progress and success.

Then Prince Naif graced the dinner party held in his honor by the University.

In a press statement following the ceremony, Prince Naif stressed that Saudi installations will be protected only by Saudis themselves, noting that the agreement recently signed with the United States of America is for cooperation in the field of modern technology to be used in protecting installations with Saudi hands.

As for the advisory program and the trial of the deviating group, Prince Naif said that the program has been continuing and the trial will be soon.

The ceremony and party were attended by a number of princes, ministers and officials.
