Crown Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Deputy Premier, Minister of Defense and Aviation and Inspector General, graced the opening ceremony of Al-Khober-based Prince Mohammed bin Fahd private university.

Upon arrival at the venue, Crown Prince Sultan was received by Prince Mohammed bin Fahd bin Abdulaziz, Governor of the Eastern Region, who is also Chairman of the Council of Trustees of the university, other princes and senior officials.

A speech Ceremony Was Held to Mark the Occasion.

Addressing the party, the Rector of the University Dr. Isa bin Hasan Al-Ansari said Prince Mohammed bin Fahd bin Abdulaziz has two years ago adopted the idea by Saudi people in the region to build the university. Immediately, he donated a 500,000 Sq.M. plot and donated the cost of the university's largest college worth SR27 million, he announced.

For his part, the University's Deputy Chairman of the Council of Trustees Prince Turki bin Mohammed bin Fahd reminded that Prince Salman bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Riyadh Region, has laid the foundation stone for the project, before being adopted by Prince Mohammed bin Fahd bin Abdulaziz.

Since the beginning of the project, the idea was shared by Saudi businessmen in the region, he said, adding that the founders vowed to build an advanced modern educational facility in the Eastern Region.

Taking the podium, Prince Mohammed bin Fahd bin Abdulaziz announced the donation of Crown Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Deputy Premier, Minister of Defense and Aviation and Inspector General, to shoulder the cost of a professorship chair on energy and environment studies amounting to SR10 million on annual bases.

Then Crown Prince Sultan opened the university electronically, and was shown a documentary film on the university's different facilities and construction. Then he laid the foundation stone for the University Housing Complex and launched the university's initiatives to forge a number of partnerships with international renowned scientific institutions in the field of higher education.

Addressing the gathering, Crown Prince Sultan highlighted the higher education renaissance orchestrating the different parts of the continent-like country of Saudi Arabia.

He said the balanced developed programs in the Kingdom, under the instructions of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, have put education, training and scientific research on top of their development plans priorities.

He cited the expansion in the higher education programs, support of universities, follow-up of the personal situations of their staff members as well as students, and Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Program for domestic and external scholarship as tangible evidence of keenness of the Saudi prudent and sincere leadership, led by the monarch.

He vowed that the Government is determined to support and encourage the partnership between higher education and private sector.

Then the Crown Prince honored the shareholders of the university and exchanged memorial gifts.

The event was attended by a number of princes and civil and military officials.

Crown Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz, the Deputy Premier, Defense and Aviation Minister and Inspector General, conveyed congratulations of the Custodian of the two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz, the Supreme Commander of all armed forces, to the personnel of the armed forces in the eastern region on the occasion of Eid Al-Fitr and the crown prince also extended his congratulations to them on the occasion during an event held on this occasion in King Fahd Military City in the eastern region.

A speech ceremony was held on the occasion.

The crown prince delivered a speech in which he conveyed congratulations of the King on the Eid.

Addressing the personnel, the crown prince thanked them for their efforts to develop their homeland and said, "Please be advised that while you are defending this dear and great part of your dear country, you are maintaining world stability and economy. With your defense, you are making sacrifices for this dear homeland.

The Kingdom is also keen on the stability, development and progress of the countries of the world with a balanced policy and effective resolutions and constant calls for all parties of conflicts to avoid division and infighting and its call for solidarity to build a just, world peace through the return of rights to their owners."

The crown prince said that all accomplishments by the armed forces are due to the grace of the Almighty God and for the advancement of the homeland and its protection and for the happiness and welfare of the citizens.

The crown prince said he appreciates the personnel’s sincerity and loyalty to their religion and country. He urged them to continue their efforts and training saying, "We will spare nothing to support you with all that you need."

Then, the crown prince opened and toured an exhibition at King Fahd Military City on efforts of the crown prince to modernize the armed forces. Then, a presentation on the crown prince's services for the homeland and the armed forces was shown.

Later, the crown prince answered questions by reporters. On the world financial markets crisis, he said, "This is an international issue that doesn't concern us only. However, the king instructed several concerned agencies to thoroughly study how best to deal with this issue."

On a Saudi embassy in Iraq, the crown prince said, "Iraq is a sisterly country. The embassy will be opened soon, God willing."

On transforming a part of the armed forces to installations' security forces and whether this shortage in the armed forces will be compensated, the crown prince said, "First...no installations' forces were assigned without being replaced by other forces. To us, the installations are more important than any other thing."

Later, the crown prince left the King Fahd Military City. The event was attended by a number of princes and officials.

Saudi Arabia is exploring ways to deal with the current crisis in global financial markets, Crown Prince Sultan, deputy premier and minister of defense and aviation, said yesterday. He was answering questions from reporters at the end of a function organized by the armed forces on the occasion of Eid celebrations in the Eastern Province.

Prince Sultan said the Kingdom would reopen its mission in Baghdad shortly

. Crown Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz, the Deputy Premier, Defense and Aviation Minister and Inspector General, has expressed appreciation for the efforts of King Abdulaziz and his Men Foundation for Talent and Innovation (Mawahib) in the service of the society.

The remarks of Prince Sultan were made in a cable of reply to minister of education and deputy president of Mawhiba, who submitted to him the annual report of Mawhiba.

We do appreciate you efforts and the efforts of the personnel of Mawhiba, and appreciate the achievements of Mawhiba in the service of the talented', he said.

Meanwhile, Dr al-Obeid highlighted the support being extended by the wise Saudi Leadership to Mawhiba. He noted that this support will enable the foundation to perform its mission in a satisfactory manner.

On his part, Dr Khalid al-Sabti, Mawhiba's secretary general, said the next stage will witness more achievements by Mawhiba in the service of the talented and the society.

Prince Abdulrahman bin Abdulaziz, Deputy Minister of Defense and Aviation and Inspector General, arrived in Najran Region to convey greetings and congratulations of the Custodian of the two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz, the Supreme Commander of all armed forces, and Crown Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz, the Deputy Premier, Defense and Aviation Minister and Inspector General, to the personnel of Najran Region on the occasion of Eid Al-Fitr.

He was received by Undersecretary of Najran Region Governorate Mohammed bin Fahd bin Suwailem; Major General Omer bin Hasan Babaeer, Commander of the Southern Region, senior commanders and civil and military senior officials.

Prince Abdulrahman was accompanied by Prince Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Abdulaziz; Prince Faisal bin Abdulrahman bin Abdulaziz; and Prince Saud bin Abdulrahman bin Abdulaziz.

Prince Abdulrahman expressed appreciation for the personnel's services for the country from which Islam emanated and spread all over the world due to the efforts of this region's men who went to various regions of the world to spread Islam, Prince Abdulrahman said.
