Meetings agree on boosting cooperation in various domains
The Preparatory Committee meeting for the 19th session of the Saudi-Yemeni Coordination Council has reiterated the significance of enhancing the on-going efforts for broadening and developing the existing and future cooperation between the two countries.
The Committee at the end of its two-day deliberations in Sanaa, approved the minutes of the meetings which will be submitted to the 19th session of the Saudi-Yemeni Coordination Council.
The minutes included cementing fraternal cooperation between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Yemen notably in the developmental domains.
The committee underscored the importance of bolstering cooperation in trade and industrial sectors through a hike in the total volume of trade exchanges.
It also underlined the importance of enhancing direct relations between the private sectors in the two countries through exchange of visits and organization of trade exhibitions.
The meeting called for cementing cooperation in the fields of technical education, vocational training, higher education and scientific research.
The two sides expressed their readiness to hold the second meeting of the Saudi-Yemeni Technical Committee in the field of technical education and vocational training in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on a date to be agreed upon later.
The two sides decided to further boost bilateral cooperation in agricultural and health domains.
They also agreed to cement cooperation in tourism and postal fields as well as in electricity and energy sectors.
They underlined the importance of enhancing cooperation between the two countries' national data centers.
The committee called for increasing cooperation between the Saudi and Yemeni ministries of interior within the framework of the Security Cooperation Agreement signed in Jeddah in July 1996 in addition to activation of the agreement of combating drugs and organization of the borders authorities.
The joint preparatory committee's meeting of the Saudi Yemeni Coordination Council had started in Sanaa last Saturday under the co-chairmanship of Mohammed bin Ibrahim Al-Hadeethi, Advisor at the Royal Court in charge of the Special Committee at the Saudi Cabinet, and Dr. Husham Sharaf Abdullah, Yemen's Undersecretary of the Ministry of Planning and International Cooperation.
The two parties reviewed the progress witnessed by the former session of the Saudi Yemeni Coordination Council.
Members of the Saudi side in the preparatory committee of the Saudi Yemeni Coordination Council, led by Mohammed bin Ibrahim Al-Hadeethi, who is also Advisor at the Royal Court in charge of the Cabinet's special committee, left Sanaa after having taken part in the first meeting of the Saudi Yemeni preparatory committee for the 19th session of the Saudi Yemeni Coordination Council which concluded its deliberations in Sanaa.
The delegation was seen off by the members of the host side in the committee, led by Husham Sharaf Abdullah, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Planning and International Cooperation, Ali bin Mohammed Al-Hamdan, Saudi ambassador to Yemen, and Mohammed Ali Mohsen Al-Ahwal, Yemeni ambassador to Saudi Arabia.
