Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques lays Riyadh University for Girls foundation stone
King Abdullah directs the university be named "Princess Norah bint Abdulrahman"

Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz patronized in Riyadh the ceremony of laying the foundation stone of Riyadh University for Girls.
Upon arrival at the venue of the ceremony, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques was received by Prince Mishaal bin Abdulaziz, Chairman of Allegiance-Pledge Commission, Prince Salman bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Riyadh Region, Dr. Ibrahim bin Abdulaziz Ala'ssaf, Minister of Finance, Dr. Khalid bin Mohammad Ala'nqari, Minister of Higher Education, and other officials.
Speeches were delivered on the occasion.
Dr. Ibrahim bin Abdulaziz Ala'ssaf, Minister of Finance, delivered a speech in which he praised the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques' support for the role of women and their participation in development and service of society in line with Islamic values and for development of education.
Dr. Ala'ssaf said the university will occupy an area of 8,000,000 square meters and the area of its buildings will be about 3,000,000 square meters. It will include an administrative area; an academic area of 15 colleges and 700-bed hospital; a housing area for staff, families and students with public facilities including mosques, schools and other recreational installations and a transportation system.
Then, Dr. Khalid bin Mohammad Ala'nqari, Minister of Higher Education, delivered a speech in which he announced naming the university after the name of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah adding that the name of the university has become "King Abdullah University for Girls."
Dr. Ala'nqari hailed Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah's support for girls' education.
Then, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah directed that the university be named after Princess Norah bint Abdulrahman saying, "In the name of God, the most beneficent, the most merciful. I thank brother Khalid and sister Aljooharh for this naming, but this university shall be named after Princess Norah bint Abdulrahman."
Afterwards, Princess Aljoharah bint Fahd Al Saud, Director of Princess Norah bint Abdurrahman University for Girls, delivered a speech in which she commended the king's constant support for girls' education, Saudi women's role and the establishment of the university.
She stated that the university currently includes 13 colleges in Riyadh and that 26,000 female students are enrolled in these colleges this year.
Then, the king and the audience watched a documentary on the project of the university and girls' university education. Afterwards, the king received a memorial gift on this occasion, viewed a miniature of the project of the university and was briefed on the project.
Then, the king laid the foundation stone of the project of the University of Princess Norah bint Abdulrahman and later, left the venue of the ceremony.
The ceremony was attended by Prince Fahd bin Mohammad bin Abdulaziz, Prince Abdulrahman bin Abdulaziz, Deputy Minister of Defense and Aviation and Inspector General, and a number of other princes, ministers and senior officials.
